This post will probably be basic to some of the higher limit or more advanced players but should be helpful to some of the smaller stakes or less advanced ones.

Readjusting to the current styles

Posted 05-04-09 at 05:52 PM by Zybomb

Times have changed in poker and the way people play has adapted and changed as well. For instance several years ago, it was fairly common to see players raising with top pair when their opponents bet (raising for information, value whatever). Because of this, a hand like TPTK was a big hand, and would easily call a raise, and likely another bet on the next street. Was playing a 5/5 Game, avg buy in $1000, straddles about 25% of the time and avg raise ranging from $25-$55 with no straddle and $60-$100 with one

To discuss tonight's events, I began up $1000 after I was paid off when I turned the nut straight by KQ. Had 75 in a 4 way $35 raised pot. Flop was Q 6 4 rainbow, flop went check check $80 call, call fold. Turn was an 8 check, check, $190 call fold,...

Snow Plows

Posted 03-03-09 at 06:57 PM by Zybomb

My car was parked a half a block off of my street, on the cross street, which is more of "main" street than my actual block.

I didn't go to my car until this afternoon and walked to it to find it covered up to the Window in snow because of the plows who decided to completely box me in. Interesting...
