Hmm..apparently PokerStars didn't want to sign Frieberg to anything since he's now sporting a "Bestpoker.net" jacket...

Talking Poker 08-10-06 10:20 PM

I thought he was a CardPlayer guy, actually, but I'm not sure...

Robbie Robb 08-10-06 10:21 PM

Apparently Moneymaker was too good to bother showing up for the "parade of champions"

Talking Poker 08-10-06 10:21 PM

That, or maybe he doesn't care about havint to cover his hotel expenses any more and decided pocketing $25,000 (just a guess) from Bestpoker was a better deal.

Selling out isn't hard to do when they much money is waved in front of your face.

Talking Poker 08-10-06 10:36 PM

Notice that the guys with Full Tilt hats on are wearing them backwards, with the front taped over. Why??? I'm betting it's becayse the logo on the front was too big, and therefore non approved.

Gotta love ESPN and their "rules." They were actually slapping ".NET" stickers on EVERYONE who walked in to the tourney area with any .com on them, or even a lot of people who DIDN'T have a .com on them, but the name seemed like it could be a .com. I was actually surprised no one tagged me the whole time I was there. If they had, I think it would have mysteriously fallen off...

This is pretty entertaining. I like how it's not rushed, and you actually get to see everything. Well worth the cost of admission!

Dodoubled 08-10-06 10:38 PM

The first link doesn't work anymore, but the second one works in Windows Media Player.

Robbr25 08-10-06 10:39 PM

I agree with you TP, depending on the price I might actually be willing to pay to see action like this.
I also like the WSOP Main Event Blind structure, does not seem rushed.
Of course they were/are way ahead of schedule.

BlibbityBlabbity 08-10-06 10:44 PM

Really was hoping I could hear PH talk about himself some tonight:rolleyes:

Clearly this is about him tonight, right?

GeoffM 08-10-06 10:48 PM

4 tabling
2 sites
2 bonuses clearing at once
1 WSOP for free...priceless :D .

Talking Poker 08-10-06 11:08 PM

Cunningham is playing great... very smart poker right now - Preying on the weakness/tightness of his opponents (each waiting for the other short stack to bust) and accumulating some chips.

He's still my pick to win this whole thing, despite Gold's monster stack.

Talking Poker 08-10-06 11:15 PM

Hellmuth has some good things to say from time to time... You just have to wade through an AWFUL lot of self-promotion and self-back-patting.

Robbr25 08-10-06 11:18 PM

Great call by Allen, that one will most definitely make the final ESPN show.

Talking Poker 08-10-06 11:18 PM

I love the announcers "reads" and trying to pick up tells. So far, their analysis is surprisingly close to my own.

HOLY COW..... Cunningham just called with A9 high and was right! That was a sick call. I thought he (Cunningham) had a small pair and would call and win, but calling with Ace high??? nh sir.

Spidey44 08-10-06 11:20 PM

Great call by AC to take a few mil off Gold.

Talking Poker 08-10-06 11:20 PM

Robbie Robb 08-10-06 11:27 PM

And now, unfortunately, turns around and dumps off >3M to Binger

Spidey44 08-10-06 11:56 PM

Wow...the commentator with Gordon called Gold's hand. Limp/reraised earlier with Queens and the read on the shaking hands for the big hand. Tough hand there for Lee.

Gold has queens, Lee has jacks. Lee goes out in 6th.

Talking Poker 08-10-06 11:56 PM

51 million is a lot of chips.

Edit: CardPlayer says 54. Whatever.

Jamie Gold $54,000,000
Allen Cunningham $14,700,000
Paul Wasicka $11,900,000
Michael Binger $7,800,000
Rhett Butler $3,500,000

GL Alan.

BlibbityBlabbity 08-11-06 12:00 AM

You would think THAT guy would have remembered the way the earlier hand played out since he was the one the Gold basically TOLD to fold ("I have a big hand, I limp reraised here, I wouldn't do that ithout a big hand, etc, etc"). He finally folded in that one.

Robbr25 08-11-06 12:13 AM

So who's staying up to watch this ?

Talking Poker 08-11-06 12:17 AM

I'm tempted.

Or.......................... I could go to bed EARLY and get up for the Heads Up that will inevitably still be going on by "morning."

Ah, who am I kidding? I hate getting up early.

Robbr25 08-11-06 12:20 AM

I was thinking of sleeping for an hour, then waking up and watching.
I do have to work Fri of course, lol

jillaj 08-11-06 12:20 AM

I will watch it for a few more hours. Kudos to ESPN for the free broadcast though.

Spuddy 08-11-06 12:22 AM

Not working for me?

Help?

MAYHEM45 08-11-06 12:22 AM

Kudos to the dude who hacked the feed you mean. ;)

EDIT: not me, if you were wondering.
