I think pretty much anything is possible.... but I wouldn't want to change it TOO much. I mean, certainly someone with 2000 posts who has been here for over a year and has 3 bars of green rep deserves more rep giving power than someone with 8 posts who signed up yesterday and has done nothing but spam the forum, right?

I still think the system will work out in the long run. It's just a bit weird at first. As people start getting more rep, they will be able to give more rep, and so on and so forth. It should work.

What I could do is weight the power heavier towards current rep. That way, if some new poster comes in and is just AWESOME, they would have more power than someone who is mediocre but has been here for a long time or has made a lot of useless posts. That's a decent idea, actually...

No sir.... forgot all about it!

I have also seen on some sites (mainly GorillaMask.net) where the amount of "rep" is listed underneath the users name and avatar. I think that would be useful just to see where everybody stands instead of "between x and x". It would also help for people in the negative, if we could se someone was in the negative by one point as opposed to 19 or something like that. Then you could put back the sweet default descriptions.

Yes, those were sweet, weren't they?

Quite frankly, I wanted to do it how you are suggesting, but I didn't see that option (to list the actual number). I'll look some more.

Here is a picture of what I am talking about. I highlight the little rep on the side with my mouse...

Yeah, I like that. Do you know if they are running vbulletin, and if so, what version? If you are friendly with the Admin there, ask them how they enabled that.

Hawt 01-26-06 01:22 AM

he uses Powered by vBulletin Version 3.5.3. you're .1 behind!

I show him a PM, I'll let you know when he replies.

nvvm i think it should go. some dirty BASTARD(S) keeps givving me negative rep for no reason. i got neg rep for asking to see if anyone plays cs or css.

Talking Poker 01-26-06 09:52 PM

Maybe you get negative rep for bitching so much about getting negative rep. Maybe if you'd just forget about it and contribute to the site, you'll turn green eventually. I'd bet on it, in fact.

MAYHEM45 01-26-06 09:58 PM

Bingo. See man, nobody cares about this stuff anyway. Hell, nobody even leaves me ANY rep, whatever.

HEwong 01-26-06 11:08 PM

i only started bitching after someone gave me neg rep for no reason to start.

Talking Poker 01-26-06 11:27 PM

That may be true. But as I recall, your first 50ish posts here were beggin for money and then, oddly enough, "bitching" because no one would give you money.

That's ancient history, of course... I'm just pointing out the pattern and saying why people might have a bad taste in their mouth about you. (I am not one of them, for the record). So let it go, be cool, and it will all work out...

HEwong 01-27-06 04:05 PM

aight.. btw i think it was around 20 post tops begging ,, nto 50. but either way thats in the past

thrash1294 01-27-06 04:49 PM

I gave you neg rep one time and you know why.All the start me with a bank, which I did yes small but you went and played right away over your bankroll.
