Well, I'm doing it. Be nice to see Caulpepper get injured and miss week 1 now, but I suspect they may pull the plug on this promo if that happened.

GeoffM 08-28-06 12:54 PM

Shabi, they only need your cc info if you deposit by cc.

GeoffM 08-28-06 01:21 PM

You boys should have waited, the line is now -4.5 :D .

MANSION Sammy:
Hello, I am just opened and account and made an $1,100 deposit. I am trying to
do the Pittsburgh Steelers promotion but when I went to place my bet, I noticed
that the line has changed to -4.5. Could you please help me place my bet
correctly.

MANSION Sammy:
Hello

GeoffM:
Hi SAmmy

MANSION Sammy:
You need to place your bet online

GeoffM:
I know, I am logged in now, but the line shows -4.5, and the terms show that it
should be -5

GeoffM:
Hello?

MANSION Sammy:
As long as you bet the minimum amount of $1100 on the SPORTSBOOK

GeoffM:
I am prepared to do that, but I was told the line should be -5, not -4.5

MANSION Sammy:
Where were you told this

MANSION Sammy:
Please see the following Simply visit the MANSION Sportsbook and place a minimum
Point Spread (Handicap) bet of USD 1,100 to win USD 1,000 (or currency
equivalent) on the Pittsburgh Steelers for their game on Thursday 7 Sep 2006.
(00:30 GMT 8 Sep 2006)

If your bet is not a winner, MANSION will refund your losses of USD 1,100 (or
currency equivalent).

GeoffM:
Hmm, ok, perhaps my friend just got the line at -5, so I guess I still qualify
for this promotion?

MANSION Sammy:
Yes as long as you bet the minimum amount of $1100 on the SPORTSBOOK

MANSION Sammy:
OK

GeoffM:
Ok, thank you very much, I will be betting $1,100 on the Steelers, thanks a lot
Sammy!

MANSION Sammy:
No probs Thank you ;-)

It seems to be up still, but I am still nervous...it would be a huge chunk of money for me. Can we cash out the winnings immediately?

JDMcNugent7 08-28-06 01:42 PM

just got it in at -4.5
solid.

JDMcNugent7 08-28-06 01:43 PM

no apparently u need to scan and send them copy of drivers license and all that and can take up to 5 days.

GeoffM 08-28-06 02:25 PM

I did a good amount of looking up, and my buddy who bets an insane amount of money on books took a look and it looks 110% legitimate. I'd throw down your money soon if you'll be doing it, they won't be offering this if the line falls much further.

Penguinfan 08-28-06 03:09 PM

The offer is legit. The would do this for a couple reasons, the only thing I can't figure out is why they want action all on one side of the game instead of letting you choose.

First of all it is pretty standard practice that offshore places are willing to pay(via incentives, finders fees, refer-a-friend, etc...) about $400 to aquire a new player. They are over-paying almost 3x here, not out of the question, but definatly a premium.

Second, I saw this posted elsewhere and when looking into it the concensus was there will be a 4x rollover required to withdraw ANY funds, even your original deposit, meaning you will have to make $8000 in wagers before you can get a penny of the money, again, even your deposit.

If you bet $100 80 times and go .500 you will have $1600 of your $2000, IF YOU GO .500, most people can't. You deposited $1100 and are up $500, again they are willing to pay $400 to aquire new business so that's at least reasonable.

If you lose the bet and they give you a BONUS $1000 that you have to rollover 4x and go .500 you will have $800 of your money left.

It's a great deal and one I will probably get hooked into, but it's not exactly free money, so be careful.

If anyone needs to correct my above math please do as I am typing this as I think it out. If my math is wrong (figure in the 10% juice by the way) then this may be a better deal than it looked like.

Windbreaker 08-28-06 03:22 PM

I don't see any terms and conditions regarding any rollover amount. From what I've read it's a straight up bet....you win, you can cash out...no roll over requirements at all.

Is there a link to the conditons you refer to?

Penguinfan 08-28-06 03:29 PM

In their normal T&C it gives the GENERAL details of "Bonus" money, which several people seem to think this will fall under.

Hope I am wrong and this is just a huge draw for them, expensive, but probably still worth it in the long run.

Couldn't they have done the same promotion for a smaller amount and still got the same reaction, or more considering some people wouldn't put up a grand just in case?

I got a couple people looking into this right now and will post again when I hear anything.

MAYHEM45 08-28-06 03:45 PM

Im gonna wait till you find this out before I do anything.

GeoffM 08-28-06 03:48 PM

GeoffM 08-28-06 03:51 PM

Shabi, post your chat here, or fire me a PM if you don't want to post it.

Penguinfan 08-28-06 03:53 PM

What does it say in these T&C's exactly about bonus money, which this will be considered? I'm asking, I honestly don't know.

GeoffM 08-28-06 04:02 PM

I can't find a definition of bonus money. After years of whoring poker bonuses, I must say this looks like the shit  .

Penguinfan 08-28-06 04:04 PM

Without hearing from anyone I know, and been down the road of shaky bonuses in the past I have to say I honestly don't see anything that looks out of line here.

FWIW

Penguinfan 08-28-06 04:18 PM

Just heard back from someone who said they ran a promotion like this before and paid out the money no questions asked.

Only scenario I can think of is they are willing to pay $100 to get a new player, and one's with $1000 laying around, so all they have to do is lay off the bet on another, or several other books by taking Pittsburgh for whatever amount they are potentially stuck.

They lose the Juice only if Miami covers, but pick up a ton of new accounts.

GeoffM 08-28-06 04:18 PM

See, the beauty of it is this "technically" isn't a bonus offer. A bonus offer would be "X% up to $X of your initial deposit, X rollover". Here, it is a straight up bet, you win, you win, you lose, they refund the loss. I like. Just hope Roethlisberger stays off a motorcycle until after week 1.

Talking Poker 08-28-06 04:30 PM

This is exactly what I thought it must be. It would make more sense for them to let you bet either side, but I guess they are just going to see what the total comes out to and lay the whole thing off elsewhere. Makes sense. It's a great way to get relatively high rollers in the door for $100 a piece.

Sucks that the line has moved a half point already.

GeoffM 08-28-06 04:33 PM

I'd hardly call myself a high roller LOL. Sure, I had the money kicking around in neteller, but I am far from that. If this comes through, I will likely take the girlfriend out for a really nice night on the town.

Penguinfan 08-28-06 04:49 PM

The only potential downside I see for the player is if you were gonna hedge you better do it quicky, if they start laying this money off on other books it COULD affect the line and the very last thing you want to do is get "Middled" in the deal, even though 5 is not a number to really be worried about it could still happen.

Talking Poker 08-28-06 05:02 PM

Im not planning on hedging it (Intertops doesn't even have the game available to bet on yet), but I understand what you are saying.

PShabi 08-28-06 06:50 PM

What's the age requirement? Can't be 18. Somebody do it for you?

PShabi 08-28-06 06:55 PM

All of the questions are here are more than covered by experienced sports bettors at 2+2. Go to the sports betting forum and see the mansion thread. I don't want to rehash it. There are chat transcripts posted there and what not. All confirming that:

1) The deal is legit
2) You can cash out right away with proper ID.
3) An offer like this was made during the world cup and it lost. All money was refunded as promised.

Anybody who has the money and doesn't do this is dumber than Brian and eejit combined.

GeoffM 08-28-06 07:48 PM

No, requirements were indeed 18. So JD is in line to win 1 BB :D
