Three tries to beat your high score? Or we each play three times and add up the scores and compare them?

The only problem with this is the arcade is set up to only log our highest scores, so we'd have to play and record scores on the honor system.

I just realized.... We could probably set up "tournaments" for stuff like this. We should do a practice one first to make sure it will give us all the info we need for the bet at the end.

I see kirk is trying to get a Frogger tourney going.

Well i Just played my 3 games inteh Frogger tournament and somethings wrong. It says my best score is 0 when i got 6k, 16k and 17k....

I FINALLY figured out how to Rate games.

First, click on "Add as Favorite" for the game (do this for all of them). Then click on "Your Favorites" and on THAT page, and apparently ONLY on that page, you can rate each game.

If you guys could do this for as many games as possible (rate them all, and rate new games as I add them), we should have decent average ratings for the whole arcade. After we get enough ratings, I'll change the default sorting to put the highest rated games at the top.

After you rate each game, you can remove some or all of them from Your Favorites page and the rating will stay.

Good stuff.

FINALLY.... I tried bribing him with food, but in the end, it took repeated beatings to get my Yeti to hit that bastard penguin far enough to claim the top spot.

Well, I say "top spot," since it shows me as #1 in a three way tie for first, but I guess only one of us gets the icon, and it's not me. :mad:

For those of you who like a little blood in your video games, the arcade now features:

Doom (very simple version - don't get too excited)
Kill Kenny (Should be called "Don't Kill Kenny")

I can grab the shotgun in Kill Kenny, but its always pointed to the side -- I know how to shoot it (click on keny) but how do I aim it at the guys? I got my highscore without any shotgun hits

use the arrow keys - I still have a hard time with the gun. I got 2 hits on my score for 2000 points.

I saved Kenny and got two shotgun hits!

The shotgun is cool, but I haven't figure out how to aim it....?

Ahhh, I see now. Arrow keys. Gotcha.

$100 if u beat my high score today on either, $75 to me if at midnight i still have both high scores.

Will you be playing more (to improve your score)? If not, and if you make it $50/$100 instead of $75/$100, I'll take the action.

FWIW, I'm heading out the door right now and probably won't be able to play for more than an hour (maybe 90 mins) or so between now and midnight.

I might play more, if i see someone beats my high score and I have time to play I def will. I'm not playing now and its not like I'm gonna be sitting here playing all day. I'm going to a club then spending the night at a ladyfriends ill be gone all night.

and even tho this has to be -ev ill make it 60/100 since im gonna be gone all night 60 has to be good.

I'm not sure which score to go for (first). I like Ms. Pacman better, so probably that one. Then again, I really want that Pacman icon in my posts, so maybe I'll go for that one.

Got it. I think it was my fourth try.

And I'm so mad at myself for dying like an idiot in the end too. I literally died, then got 0 more points and died again (my final guy), just a few dots away from finishing the level.

Ms. Pacman has me on serious tilt.

Try #1 - I get within like 2k of JDs score, just in time to find out that when I hit the blinkind dots, they don't actually turn the ghosts blue any more. Oh, that's nice. Instant death. Did I mention there was a 4k point key on the other side of the blinking dot? Naturally, I died my final life right after that, without getting any more points.

Then, I played again, playing perfectly until the banana level when I don't even know what happened - I guess my brain froze - and I just killed myself off. My favorite death was when I grabbed the blinking dot and turned around into the ghost behind me..... Oooops - turned too soon! Didn't get the blinking dot.

I suck.

I have time for maybe one more try and then I'm probably done until ater 11...

I think Im getting carpal tunnel in my wrist from playing all the games... Ive got really bad shooting pains in my wrist from using the arrow keys in pacman, etc.

I wish I had high score if I was going to get carpel tunnel.

Man, that key level kicks my ass. I couldn't hit the damn key and lost FOUR guys in a row on that level. Stupid smart ghosts. Hate them so much.

well our friend went early to the club and got his fake taken so we didnt go there, saw tranformers instead, some parts were really good some really corny but good overall.

and i had 45 min to even play i knew u would beat ms. pacman i didnt have a chance to play that one..

its not good when Im having a dream about one of the arcade games...

Last night I was dreaming I was one of the white dots in pacman and I was trying to run but couldnt get away from the big yellow jaws of pacman and when he finally ate me I awoke.

that was some crazy shit.

FOUR new games for the weekend:

Map Game - Test your U.S. geography.
Flash Colors - Match the colors as fast as you can.
Joust - Old Atari classic.
Skid WRX - Finally, a racing game (I love racing games). Drive 3 laps as fast as you can.

OK, Joust is way too buggy. I've played 3 times and haven't been able to get a game to properly fnish yet. So I'm going to delete it and replace it with...........

Does anyone think I should make a new section for the arcade? It seems pretty popular, and this thread is already getting pretty big and we're only a week into the life of the Arcade.

I could make a new sub-forum and then every time I add a new game, I could start a thread for it with the instructions, etc. JD can make a thread for his prop bets and we can talk smack and everything else... just not all in one thread.

What do you guys think?

I'm probably going to do it anyway. I think it's a good idea.
