Windbreaker 07-31-05 04:23 PM

what I find interesting is that hardly any of you guys pick yourselfs to win. stopping throwing matches away =P

Aequitas58 07-31-05 05:11 PM

I have a rough first two rounds. If I get past Shabi - which will be a feat in itself, b/c I feel like that guy's a machine... then I have to deal w/ Chip OR Tone. Both are formidable opponents.

But, I stick w/ my earlier presumption: If I get out of rounds 1 + 2, I won't be stopped.

junYUN 07-31-05 06:03 PM

no love at all.....

Zybomb 07-31-05 08:37 PM

wheres your bracket??

PShabi 07-31-05 10:52 PM

Him and ChipFish. Oh, well chip's playing, just not posting.

PShabi 07-31-05 10:54 PM

LOL,

Lou calls me a "machine." I pick him to win the whole thing.

Maybe we should just get a hotel room!!!!

Aequitas58 07-31-05 11:14 PM

I can't cheat on Chip like that.

Talking Poker 08-01-05 12:32 AM

Actually, the guy you are playing in Round 1 did.

I think that's a sign. You're going all the way, Windbreaker!

Talking Poker 08-01-05 12:40 AM

This made me LOL.

I think the brackets are very interesting. Looking at them as a whole, mostly "well know" (active posters) players are being picked to win. This doesn't surprise me, of course, but I think we're going to be in for quite a few surprises. In a poker Heads Up match, it really doesn't take much for there to be an "upset," ya know?

I do agree that the 2Tone/Chip/pshabi/Aeq starting quadrant is by far the toughest looking, but I'll lay 5:1 that none of them wins the whole thing. One of them is guaranteed to make it to the Semi-Finals and then that guy only need to win 3 more matches. Piece of cake, right? We'll see about that...

Any takers?

PShabi 08-01-05 12:45 AM

Ooooh, I'll take it at 5 to 1. $5. It's a bet.

Talking Poker 08-01-05 12:53 AM

You know, I originally wrote 3:1 and then changed it to 4:1 and the decided to make it a more fair 5:1. But you're on. $5 to me if none of the 4 win the whole thing, $25 to you if one of you does...

BTW, of the 7 brackets posted so far, 4 of them have one of the "Magic 4" winning. Maybe I should have offered 2:1!

PShabi 08-01-05 01:04 AM

Alright, that's two side bets.

This shit is bringing out the true gamblers!!!!

Talking Poker 08-01-05 01:07 AM

I have too many bets to remember right now. I need to write them all down...

Talking Poker 08-01-05 02:05 AM

We are under way now, so no more brackets will be accepted. 7 players, $35 total. Winner take all.

pshabi just beat Aeq, which really hurts those of us who had Aeq going deep.

junYUN 08-01-05 03:23 AM

shoulda filled out my bracket

i am such a stoner

kkirk1329 08-01-05 11:29 AM

i jsut hurt half of the brackets lol

Talking Poker 08-01-05 11:31 AM

Indeed. I'm 0 for 2 now.

BrianSwa 08-01-05 11:32 AM

told u

I told you to bet on him, never listen to me.

kinger230 08-01-05 06:28 PM

A little late....

I would have gladly posted my picks but I see that the rules state it needed to be BEFORE the first match and I can see that that has already happened also.
I guess I will look harder next time.

BTW, I see that no one picked me to win it all...... What's up with that? Guess you have to earn the respect fella's huh?

Good Luck!

I have a 5 spot to poke in the kitty and no one will take it....

PShabi 08-01-05 07:07 PM

I've got you winning two matches.

Blibbityblabbity has you out of the first round.

Talking Poker 08-01-05 07:42 PM

Well, obviously you can't fill out a bracket after you know some of the results! This is what you get for procrastinating...

Thanks for losing to nflchad, btw - FINALLY I get a pick right :D

BlibbityBlabbity 08-01-05 07:47 PM

Actually, I had him winning the fisrt round....which he lost....

PShabi 08-01-05 08:47 PM

That's what I meant. Getting out of the 1st round.

GeoffM 08-04-05 12:51 PM

2Tone, I just wanted to personally thank yuo for being the only person to pick me to get out of round 1. If I win this whole thing, I will personally PM all involved in this NCAA bracket-style format and give them a piece of my mind, but Tone, you will be saved from my wrath :D .

Talking Poker 08-04-05 12:56 PM

LOL. Whatever Omaha boy. Most people went with the favorites. Like picking me over fungus boy.

Shows what they know.

I'll add up the scores after the first round is over. If someone else feels like doing it now (ahem, Zybomb), feel free.
