I think the way to do it would be:

1) person to get to total in least scores. (this would have JD in 9th right now)
2) Highest individual score (if still tied)
3) 2nd Highest individual score (if still tied), etc, etc

I like that. Hopefully it won't matter, but if it does, we'll go with this.
