Can you post the original hh here so I can see it - I'll run through it. I have noticed a few problems with picking up tournament games properly...

Talking Poker 03-13-07 12:46 PM

Sure - my bad... here are the last three that I had problems with:

Whenever I try to convert a Stars hand it does this. I realize the actual output is at the bottom, but it's sort of annoying wading through this. Also, I liked the split boxes page (where it has the raw hand history on the left and the converted one on the right) a lot more than the one that there is now.

Why do you like the split better than just a single box? I think the single box is a lot cleaner, don't you?

de-coder 03-15-07 12:24 AM

I've removed the debug code from the PS converter. Under the old, dual box, method it didn't actually show up - anyway it's gone now.

The dual box method didn't let you see both version at once anyway - this new one is easier to fit on the page and I believe is more user friendly. Anyone else have thoughts on that?

I'll take this opportunity to point out a couple of nice features of the converter that the others I looked at don't have (these are some nice, "make it easy to use" types of things).

the converter automatically detects what site you're hh file is from - I really like that one. It also detects what user is the HERO, so you don't have to type your name in to make HERO show up - I REALLY like that.

Usability is very important to me and making sure it works accurately is also important. If anyone has any comments on those two topics (or anything else) please speak up...

Talking Poker 03-15-07 12:49 AM

I just uploaded the latest version. Personally, I think the HH is great as is and I much prefer the single box over the dual boxes... the only thing I'd like to see added (new functionality-wise) at this point (besides supporting more sites, of course) is the option for a text only output.

I added the checkbox to the php page, but I have no idea how to actually modify the output to lose all the forum specific formatting and change :c: :d: :h: :s: to cdhs...

Talking Poker 03-16-07 04:27 PM

The "Text only output" option is now functional. Thanks, de-coder.

bunny 03-16-07 04:46 PM

Omaha H/L ?

I am having difficulty, trying to use the converter to post a Omaha HH.

I am not playing under my own name, if that is the root of the problem.

Would you like me to post it here?

de-coder 03-16-07 05:48 PM

I didn't build it with omaha in mind - I've never played omaha... I'm not sure it would work at all... You can post the HH file here and I'll take a look, but I won't promise anything.

bunny 03-16-07 06:24 PM

Already posted it in the Non Hold'em thread.

Titled Omaha H/L freeroll.

de-coder 03-17-07 12:59 AM

I actually need the non-converted version so I can debug it.

melioris 03-21-07 03:57 PM

a link to the converter would be great somewhere at the top of main forum page AND the top of the hand dicussion subforum page. And probably the beats adn brags forum too.

I :h: decoder.

Talking Poker 03-21-07 06:16 PM

A couple of extremely minor things that I noticed in this HH:

This is wrong:
Also, I would prefer if this:
BB: $ sitting out

was changed to this:
BB is sitting out

And lastly, for tenths of dollars, let's use the trailing zero, ie:
SB posts Small Blind $0.5

should be:
SB posts Small Blind $0.50

and:
Pre-flop: T:h: J:h: ($1.5)
should be:
Pre-flop: T:h: J:h: ($1.50)

IT's so good already, why not make it perfect, right?

Talking Poker 03-26-07 09:36 AM

Something else I've noticed about this converter. For hands like , it's showing the number of players sitting at the table, even if one or more of them is sitting out. I think that number should reflect the number of players dealt into the hand.

(Also, don't forget about my previous post )

PShabi 04-01-07 09:34 PM

Just a friendly reminder that we need this stickied in the HH discussion forum.

de-coder: Just a friendly reminder about the issues listed above.

Also, screwed up the showdown a little bit. Here is the original HH:

Oh, and there seems to be a floating "HERO" at the showdown of .

Talking Poker 04-05-07 03:30 PM

I'm pretty sure I've mentioned some of these things before, but I think they have been missed, so here goes again.

Take this HH, for example:

-It's a cash game, so there should be no buy in listed.
-It says 6 players, but there were only 4, because 2 were sitting out.
-I'd prefer it say this:
CO is sitting out
instead of this:
CO: $ sitting out
Alternatively, those positions could be removed from the HH completely, but that would require renaming the other positions based on the new number of plauers (in this case, 4). That would be better, but I'm assuming it would be a lot more complicated.

-The pot size isn't shown in the preflop line:
Pre-flop: 3:d: T:d: ($)

I hope you don't mind me posting these, de-coder. The Converter is very good as is, but it's obviously still got some bugs. If you get a chance to look at these and the other issues that have been listed, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.

bunny 04-05-07 03:38 PM

I agree.

ps:finally found out what the 'link' icon is for :o :D

Talking Poker 04-05-07 04:57 PM

In the mean time, it's hard to miss... most people use it already, it's in my sig, etc.

Talking Poker 04-11-07 01:26 AM

Another one for your list....

I noticed tonight that when someone shoves all in and has the other person covered, the pot is incorrectly displayed in the converted HH (because the shover gets his uncalled money back). Example here:

This was the original HH for testing purposes:

Talking Poker 04-12-07 02:31 AM

This is not a "bug," but merely a request:

For all the blank lines in the converted HH, can you add one single space on each of them? For whatever reason, when I cut and paste the HHs, I need to manually insert spaces on those lines, or else they disappear.

I have no idea why this happens, but adding spaces to those lines would fix my issue and shouldn't be noticeable to anyone else.

Thanks.

PShabi 04-12-07 08:39 PM

Just sticky the fucker already! It's annoying to have to come to this thread or find a post by you to get a link to the converter. We're using it, so sticky it.

Talking Poker 04-12-07 11:00 PM

Wait... you come to this thread to find a post by me to find a link to the converter?

Dude - just change the word forum to hh in the address bar... I mean, it's not like it's hard to remember.

Here I thought you wanted this stickied so EVERYONE would use it, and not just 90% of us. Little did I know it's because you can't remember the letter h. Twice. LOL.

I've been tracking these issues and I may have some time this weekend to see what I can do about them. I've just been really busy lately so I haven't been doing anything about it...

bunny 04-13-07 10:32 AM

First off, embarrassed to say, I didn't know about adding hh in the url, either. I used to click on member's list, find your name and click on your signature.

Secondly, a 'Sticky' imho, isn't good enough.

See, this is my problem & the steps I go through when creating a HD thread:

- I log in to TPF, click on Hand Discussion Topic, New Thread... & start typing my thoughts on the hand which I am bummed out or happy about. (which is rarely the case these days)

- After typing out my thoughts for that hand, I click to get my saved HH and realize I forgot to convert it beforehand. What now? (View 1st paragraph for my way). If I do it your way, I still have to open a new browser window and either type out the new (hh) url or find the 'so-called, soon-to-be-added sticky'.

My suggestion would be to add it to *Additional Options*(if possible), same as an attachment. It would be accessible to any thread and would simplify the steps needed in creating a 'TPF converted' hand history thread/post.

Talking Poker 04-13-07 12:45 PM

Yes, that would be nice. I'm just not sure how to do it or if it's even possible. I guess I can look into it.

I'm kind of amazed though at how difficult you make this sound though:
-Open a new browser window
-Click on your TP link (or type it or whatever)
-Add "hh" after the / in

I mean.....

If that ENTIRE process takes you more than 5 seconds, something is wrong. In fact, I'm going to test myself right now and see how long it takes me to get there from here. Ready..... Seat.... Go!!!!

OK, I was before I got to "4 one thousand."

Would be nice to be able to either... click a check mark for 'select all' or right click on hh and have it all highlighted; in order to copy/paste.

The way it is set up now, we have to scroll to highlight.

Talking Poker 05-10-07 08:28 PM

I couldn't get to convert. It times out every time I tried it.

de-coder 05-10-07 11:32 PM

the "seats" part of the hhf is missing - has ft changed the format for HU? I've checked my recent files and they are still the same - nl fullring.

de-coder 05-10-07 11:34 PM

You want to give me a donkey?

Actually, some of these issues aren't so easy to fix so I'm checking to see if I need to re-architect something to handle things better.

Talking Poker 05-10-07 11:43 PM

If you'll fix the 30 or so outstanding issues, yes, I will give you a :donkey if you really want one. :)

Most of these should be easy fixes, no?

Talking Poker 05-24-07 01:04 AM

So........................................ :)

de-coder 05-24-07 03:59 PM

I know... I know... I only have a few of weeks to clear the rest of my bonus at full tilt and then I can back down a bit and do some coding again. Got to make the money first

Talking Poker 06-15-07 12:57 AM

So.............. are those few weeks up yet? :)

BTW, I couldn't get the chat to show up in when I converted them.

In case you are feeling frisky sometime this weekend or year, de-coder, here's another bug for the list... Somnething's definitely not right in .

I assume most of the quirks I see are the same simple issues, but I posted this one because it looks a little different than the usual.

de-coder 07-13-07 11:14 PM

I think that's the most fucked up one yet... wow, I have no idea on that at all. PLEASE post the original HHF so I can run it and see whatthefuck...

This weekend is out as I'm going to the meet in Windsor! YEAH! I'm so jazzed for that... I'm working on a new version of the converter with a more complete XML schema so I can handle things like split pots (not possible now) and some other things.

I've probably got another 10-15 hours of design and 30-40 hours of coding ahead of me to release the next version for beta testing - you guys are all my beta testers

Invigilator 07-15-07 12:27 AM

Be sure to find time for poker in there ;)

Talking Poker 07-21-07 12:09 AM

Talking Poker 09-13-07 11:00 PM

For the first time in 6 months, we have a new version of the HH Converter. Woohooo!!! Hopefully this will take care of some of the minor formatting issues, at least...

(It needs a little cleaning up - I'm sure we'll have a clean version out there tomorrow).
