To anyone playing and reading this: Ask the imposters at your table (politely) to sit out. Explain that this was supposed to be a private tourney for TPF people only.

So far, 2 are sitting out at my table after I explained.

I'm really pissed. Was chip leader for a little while, until one of the hackers keeps betting on a draw, then hits on the river. I lose to someone who didn't earn anything. Fuming.........

Also, it seems that most of these people are here after legitimate mistakes and they are happy to sit out. So tell them about the site and invite them to play in the next one.

Hey, I just wanted to say thanks for the freeroll, it was a lot of fun. Thanks to the freeroll I got some real money in an online site and a chance to play with some "real players". (Down side of parents paying for everying = the check my bank statement)

i think i finally found my poker equivalent of yahoo sports. plus good discussion boards as well. :D

and even despite the handful of active crashers (a few were indeed classy enough to fess up and sitout), the quality of the tourney was better than what i expected and WAY better, in any respect than any *pvt* event ive attended since i started playing, a little under a year ago.

so, minus ANY crashers, it should be a total blast. and i look forward to that as well. :)

hope the league concept works out and/or if not, at least recurring small buyins on stars just for the forum regulars.

really wanted to sit with TP but got busted in 11th before I could get to his table. It was nice torney glad I stayed home for it, got busted against the dude that won it when my AT got beat by his Q4 all in preflop with Q on turn.

Interesting. He didn't even say a word during the tourney, that I know of.

I haven't decided if I need to reban you or not yet. If you weren't such an idiot as ms demi, I would allow you to stay, since you've been fine since your fresh start.... but you were pretty bad. Bad enough to earn yourself a one year ban as ms demi, when I've been handing out 7 day bans to most of the tools around here.

Yeah, TP said chrisash could stay after she came clean. The ban was for a year now that I look at it, but I was just saying since they are the same person, if she wanted to switch back to the msdemi name, it really wouldn't make any difference at this point.

Actually, I gave her a solid 365 day ban, since she went out with such glory, ripping apart this whole place on the way out.

It's all good though, as I've said.... I think it would be best to let that old account die though :)

As for this IP address stuff...... wow.

First - nice work BDMK.

Second - We have the leaker. They have admitted it and transferred me $125 (without me asking) to cover the cost of the freeroll, and I guess $25 for my troubles. I do appreciate the gesture, but if given the choice, I would rather not have the $125 and have a clean freeroll instead. The 3 hours leading up to it or so were pretty much hell for me, not to mention everything that went on with the unwitting "crashers" during the tourney.

Why in the world this person did what they did, I can not possibly comprehend. I've PM'd them and will wait for a reply before discussing this any further. If they would like to explain themselves in public here, instead of via PM to me, that's fine with me. I think everyone deserves to know - not just me.

I still can't even believe anyone would do this. :confused:

I guess I trust people too easily. :(

not to get into this too deep because we dont have whole story. Im suprised as hell also because like you said you just gave it to the established people here and I know I trust people on this forum alot....maybe 2 much now that I see this.

I mean I have given my pw out to users here and they have played games for me when I was gonna be away without any problem. I really like the fact that we have a very very tight community here and this kinda gets me to second guessing that.

its a shame. we had 35 crashers out of 66 total entries. despite that, thankfully, a few crashers forgot to play and few others yet were actually (gasp!) honest enough to agree to sitout, and one other still even returned his cash (the chinacat dude, who i think we should invite to join the forum).

i truly enjoyed playing against the forum regulars. this is the first time i played a pvt event where every single one of the forum regulars actually...knew how to play well! :D and thats exactly what im looking for in my pvt events, as part of my overall poker education. i want to have fun, practice and improve my game against those who can challenge me, not play slots on a poker table.

for the future, though, TP, pls release any passes only 10 mins before gametime (by PM of course). if there are any leaks again, dont worry, we'll catch them. ;) but at least, in such a short time period before the tourney starts, there wont be a huge stampede of outsiders.

I just wanna thank you TP for giving me the opportunity to play in the freeroll, i didnt play as much for the money, i just wanted to know how i stack up against you guys. and i guess i have to be proud of myself since i finished 4th. i wish i could have played the whole tourney but i had to go somewhere when there were 5ppl remaining. i guess i did pretty well cuz i got second(after BDMK) in this forum. i hope there are other tourneys later on and i hope i get a chance to play in them too.

After he saw the posts here and realized he was busted, the "leaker" sent me $125 on Stars for my troubles. He then PM'd me and asked me to remove his IP addresses from this thread.

I replied, wanting to know the reasoning behind his actions, because for the life of me - still - I can not think of a non-malicious reason why someone would leak the password. Keep in mind, this person didn't spam the forum, and tell people to come here to get the password. What they did was go to RGP, create a brand new account there, and then anonymously post a few simple lines, stating the name of the tourney and the password to get in. Not one mention of this site or the requirements everyone else had to go through to get the password. All this, after watching how closely I was guarding the password for the past few weeks and what everyone had to go through to get it, including all the new people having to wait until 5 minutes before the tourney started.

If anyone can come up with a possible non-malicious reason that someone would do this, I'd love to hear it. Because all I can come up with is that they wanted to wreck the freeroll for everyone here... namely me.

I do appreciate the $125 repayment gesture - but I am CERTAIN that would not have come if not for this person getting busted. But what I would really like to see is a public apology and explanation for these actions. Of course, when I asked him to make such a post, the PM reply I got was:

I haven't banned him for this, and I don't plan on it.... I'm still just in disbelief. Keep in mind - this was a trusted poster... someone who has been around for a very long time and contributed a lot to this forum.

anywho...in the future, i'd suggest all passes to everyone invited go out by PM 5-10 mins prior to gametime, no exceptions.
