TP ITM in WSOP Event - Still Alive!!!

$1000 buy in. 971 players. 90 finish in the money.

We just broke for the night at 27 players, and I am still alive!

I have $44,000 chips, which is a little above the average $36,000 stack right now. The only notable pro left is Robert Williamson III, who is an awesome guy. I've really enjoyed playing with him all day, while my friends were getting loaded on ridiculously expensive champagne with his friends courtest of Robert, of course.

I won't go into it all now, but I've taken detailed notes all day long and promise to give a detaild tourney report sometime soon.

A couple of notes though:

-I am playing great poker.
-I have yet to et my money in with the worst hand.
-My best hands have almost all held up. My AKs even beat ATo all in preflop and my big pairs are holding up aginast the smaller ones! How crazy is that???

I'm guaranteed $4400 right now, but I have every intention of making the final table tomorrow. The winner takes home $220,000.

I had exactly 5 goals for this tourney:
1. Finish in the money.
2. Make it to at least 45th place (to break even for the $2500 of buy ins from yesterday and today).
3. Make it to Day 2 (27 players).
4. Make the final table.
5. Take it down.

3 of those goals can be crossed off the list... and I have every intention of accomplishing the other two tomorrow.

One more thing. I signed my media card, "Firstname 'Talking Poker' Lastname" - so the big secret may be out soon (see Geoff's thred).

We restart tomorrow at 2:00 PM PT. I can't wait to get my hands on that bracelet.

ChipFish 07-13-05 07:12 AM

Niiiiiiiiice!!!!!!!
I fully expect a "good boy" after making Williamson lay down the better hand.
Go get them TP! :D :D

lightfungus 07-13-05 07:45 AM

Represent!

May the cards be with you man. Aw man thats awesome, good luck today I am sacrificing all my luck and pushing it your way today. No poker for me. Ha.

I will look forward to what happens next. Any way we can follow the event without your update?

kkirk1329 07-13-05 08:17 AM

i heard somewhere that the 2 events after the ME arent for bracelets or something? i guess this isnt true

BlibbityBlabbity 07-13-05 08:35 AM

SWEET!!!!!

Go to it, it made my morning to read this.... :)

PShabi 07-13-05 09:44 AM

Unbelievable. I would congratulate you, but I'll save it.

Get that motherfuckin jewelery!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Let's go TP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GeoffM 07-13-05 09:49 AM

Agreed.

If you win the bracelet, I believe that should be the prize for the August contest :D:p.

PShabi 07-13-05 09:57 AM

Is my post above misformated for everyone else too?

It looks like post on steroids to me, lol.

Aequitas58 07-13-05 12:28 PM

In the words of our favorite Russian cardplayer/mobster:

"Take it down."

:)

BrianSwa 07-13-05 01:41 PM

kool

way to go TP, I have a feeling about this one. Just think we belong to a forum run by a future wsop champion.

Spidey44 07-13-05 02:34 PM

I think TP said previously this wasn't for a bracelet for whatever reason. The bracelet is nice and all, but wouldn't you rather the green stuff? :)

Keep taking 'em down TP!

BrianSwa 07-13-05 02:40 PM

huh

wasnt for the braclet, ok if he dont want it ill take it.

plus read last line of tp post.

Spidey44 07-13-05 02:48 PM

He said the tournament was not for a bracelet... Not that he didn't want one. Stop reading how you spell.

BrianSwa 07-13-05 02:49 PM

will do as soon as you figure out where to put commas. You know glass houses and stones?

and what is "stop reading how you spell" is that like some Yoda launguage?

Spidey44 07-13-05 02:50 PM

Ok...reading tp's post he did say bracelet. I apologize.

My sentence didn't require a comma, Brian.

Spidey44 07-13-05 02:51 PM

You spell like a moron, so I assumed you read like one too...or should I say, I was assuming you had read my post wrong based on how you spell most words...

Spidey44 07-13-05 02:54 PM

Update to my comment about no bracelet. Perhaps TP said it wouldn't be an ESPN covered event... This could be wrong as well...

BrianSwa 07-13-05 02:56 PM

whatever

whatever didnt say shit to you, I don't care if I spell a word wrong of not. I didnt missread your post at all just correcting your stupid post. Oh TP dosent want a braclet why dont you go back and read the post that I asked him what his goals where at this WSOP and you will see one of them most defintly says win the braclet. Idiot.

Zybomb 07-13-05 02:58 PM

Brian what he is saying is he doesnt think that the winner of this tournament (the one TP is playing in now) receives a bracelet, not that TP doesnt want one... apparently according to TPs post he is wrong though, although I thought these events werent for bracelets either

PS Yea Shabi, your post is a super one

kkirk1329 07-13-05 03:01 PM

I heard this is true, i dont remember where i read it though.

BrianSwa 07-13-05 03:02 PM

oh

Ok if that what he meant then I appoligize but still no reason to start shit with me over spelling a couple words wrong. The comments were out of line.

Aequitas58 07-13-05 03:19 PM

"Were," not "where."

BrianSwa 07-13-05 03:25 PM

k

thanks

Talking Poker 07-13-05 03:35 PM

This is a bracelet event.

Because the heart of the main event is going on, there is little to no media coverage. The results will be available online afterwards, but ESPN won't be filming and they most likely will not be ive updates.

First prize is $220k. I'm already guaranteed $4400 for 27th place.

BrianSwa 07-13-05 03:44 PM

cool

wow thats awsome dude, Im impressed. $4400 no way you are gonna do way better then that!!!!

Spidey44 07-13-05 03:46 PM

It's not only what I meant, but also exactly what I said! I never said he didn't want the bracelet. Lord Brian...like smacking my head into the wall...

And about your spelling, it was a JOKE! Quit being so sensitive.

BrianSwa 07-13-05 03:48 PM

well

here is a great idea, re-read you posts they arnt really clear! So thats what you meant great move on get over it. Like smacking your head into a wall huh? then stop talking about it wow what a great idea only a moron like me could of come up with that one.

Talking Poker 07-13-05 03:49 PM

Quit arguing in my thread, punks!

PShabi 07-13-05 03:50 PM

Yeah, no arguing unless I start it.

Where's penguinfan?

BrianSwa 07-13-05 03:50 PM

lol

I was waiting on you to say something along those lines, NP tp its over on my side.

BrianSwa 07-13-05 03:52 PM

lol

ok that has got to be the single best thing you have ever said, and yes you have said some good ones. That got me to smile on a somewhat terrible day thanks pshabi.

Aequitas58 07-13-05 03:55 PM

Shabi Says
> No arguing unless I start it.

Brain says
> thats the single best thing you ever said

Nah. Back when you were banned, Shabi was funny as a muthafucka. Too bad you missed it.

BrianSwa 07-13-05 04:01 PM

true

yea I always miss the good stuff, but then again you have said some pretty funny things also. Like back when you and TP had your match and you kept backpeddleing and trying to get out of it, damn that was funny.

Spidey44 07-13-05 04:09 PM

Sorry TP, I must continue...

Since you couldn't understand this Brian, I will translate.

I think the esteemed forum owner/operator stated

Sometime before today

This event...Event #43

The winner would not receive a bracelet.

I then admitted I was wrong about those statements after rereading TP's post. I followed that by saying perhaps TP said this event wouldn't be covered by ESPN. Hope that clears it up.

Aequitas58 07-13-05 04:10 PM

LOL.

I'm debating on whether to actually set your stupid ass straight about the whole thing, or to just let it go ... because whatever I type you won't follow anyway.

I've already done 6 hours of work today, so I could certainly use the break... but I don't want to waste my free time educating you.

I'll just say this: We argued back and forth because of a few misunderstandings on the forum and AIM, but outside of that, you can't say that I backpeddled. LOL... how did I do that exactly? Before you answer, please consider the salient issue that WE ACTUALLY PLAYED.

Spidey, it's not just you, bro.

BrianSwa 07-13-05 04:11 PM

whatever

im not gonna get into it with either of you because you are both a waste of time.

Aequitas58 07-13-05 04:13 PM

BANG BANG!

(Ala Dave Chappelle as Rick James ... Bitch!)

Spidey44 07-13-05 04:15 PM

Because once again Brian, your (yes I know it's you're) wrong.

Zybomb 07-13-05 04:15 PM

I wasn't around for this...... what did Brian do to get banned?

drewjax 07-13-05 04:20 PM

any way to follow this online? Not seeing it at cardplayer, or at wsop site.

Spidey44 07-13-05 04:23 PM

Check out

Aequitas58 07-13-05 04:30 PM

Which time? IIRC, he was banned twice, and then left once on his own accord.

Came back each time of course, much to my chagrin.

Spidey44 07-13-05 04:34 PM

What's the over/under on banning him, him leaving next?

drewjax 07-13-05 04:49 PM

Still not seeing it. Its event #44 right? I only see up to 43 on all the sites that cover wsop.

GeoffM 07-13-05 04:56 PM

Yeah, event 44, I can't find any blogs about it either.

Zybomb 07-13-05 05:00 PM

Well pick the most interesting...and include how he became unbanned

BlibbityBlabbity 07-13-05 05:03 PM

At least with the other one TP was in, they waited till both days were over (CardPlayer) before posting any review/reports.

lightfungus 07-13-05 05:31 PM

I'm sure you could go back to about jan/feb or maybe it was right when i joined in nov/dec 04, aeq will remember better since he is on the local piss off brian patrol.

Anyhoo, this is so amazingly awesome, it will be a shame that it wont be on TV. I would love to see him with a TP hat on and point it out to everyone i know. Id Tivo that shit.

Aequitas58 07-13-05 06:02 PM

2Tone 07-13-05 06:08 PM

Celebrate TP's achievement vs. Brian rehash

Could we break these into two threads, so I can follow the one I'm excited about and ignore the rest?
