2 accounts on pokerstars????

I have a friend that moved in with me and wants to make an account be we have just this one computer.........Does anyone know how we can set up another one for him?????????

Thanks

jillaj 11-29-05 01:02 PM

You have to create his account on a different computer. I would try the library or another friends house that doesn't have pokerstars.

chrisash 11-29-05 01:03 PM

thats the thing we have no access to another computer
not sure if a library will let you download the software?????

rookette22 11-29-05 01:05 PM

Just email PS saying that your friend wants his own account ...and they'll give it to you ...simple as that ....gl :)

studiopet 11-29-05 01:18 PM

Unless I'm missing something (which I may very well be), I don't understand what the computer has to do with the account. Pokerstars is an application loaded onto a PC. When its executed it connects up to the Pokerstars servers without regard to username. When you attempt to enter a table/tourney/cashier - you have to log in using your pokerstars credentials. Naturally, you *both* can't be logged on at the same time on the same PC....in fact, you can't have 2 machines connect to PS behind the same NAT'd address. If you figured that out - let me know please. =)

Again - I'm confused, a user account, as far as I know is not specific to a machine. I would expect someone (say TP) to be able to access his PS account via my machine without any problems. This just sounds very strange to me.

chrisash 11-29-05 01:20 PM

you can only have 1 account per PC ID cause when i goto create a new account it tells me I already have an account on this computer????

rookette22 11-29-05 01:37 PM

Yes ...but if you email PS support and ask them if you could open another account for your friend they will allow you to do so...mind you...you will not be able to play at the same time but he will have his own account ....

ChipFish 11-29-05 01:42 PM

Most sites will do it...
Mrs. ChipFish has an account at PokerStars also.
They won't allow you to play at the same Table (Cash game)

You have to email support....
As was already said.

rookette22 11-29-05 01:45 PM

Hmmm... if you have Windows XP on your system then you have "carte blanche" to any amount of accounts you like ....and if you have 2 computers then yes you can be logged on at same time.....

and i so hate the cheaters that do this ....but i've only seen this happen in play chip tables that 2 users in same household could sit at same table...I think they have better security on real money tables...

hope i cleared things up for you :)

chrisash 11-29-05 01:53 PM

I have XP.what do you mean any # of accounts

rookette22 11-29-05 02:00 PM

LOL...grabbed your attention huh ....lol

well like others have told me " rtfm" lol and if that doesn't work maybe i'll be nice enough and let you in on the secret lol

studiopet 11-29-05 02:00 PM

Local accounts, PS accounts, Yahoo accounts? Elaborate.

chrisash 11-29-05 02:01 PM

sure did grab my attention?????????????

rookette22 11-29-05 02:04 PM

"Cartes blanches" to any account that only limits you to one per IP addy .......it's just too kewl to own Windows XP.... lol

This also works for Free Trial Program Downloads....like Photoshop you can live off the Trial offers without paying a dime lol weeeeeeeeeee

chrisash 11-29-05 02:06 PM

ok time to let us in on the secrect plzzzzzzzzzz lol

studiopet 11-29-05 02:11 PM

I googled it and found nothing other regarding to what I *think* you are speaking off.

Provide a link to this application or something that explains this application to which you refer.

Thanks.

rookette22 11-29-05 02:14 PM

hmm sufffffffffer lol

if you have Windows XP on your system just read the manual ....... lol

"how much do you both hate me now " lol

studiopet 11-29-05 02:33 PM

has absolutely nothing to say about your "carte blanche". 2 MCSE's and 1 CCNP have no idea of a "carte blanche" feature on *any* windows system.

The fact of the matter is this: If you are NAT'd out 1 IP address - the public world will only see that one IP address and thats it. Nothing will change that (short of a proxy) The NAT device associates the internal IP host to the public address to which it is NAT'd via a port # which is how a return packet knows how to get to host A, B or C on the inside of the network. If *this* is what you are refering to - it has absolutely nothing to do with Windows.

I'm only suffering because I'm trying to sort through what you are saying.

rookette22 11-29-05 02:45 PM

doh ...i have no idea what you just said there.....lol

"carte blanche" means unlimited access/ control.... i use the word all the time maybe it's a french thing lol not that i'm french mind you but....anyway ...has nothing to do with what i was saying about Windows XP and you won't find it by googling it either lol

do you even have Windows XP on your PC?

studiopet 11-29-05 02:52 PM

No...

I'm running Windows 3.11 for WorkGroups on my Apple2E. I think that is where my confusion lies.....probably not enough processor.

I'll get back to you when I sort it all out.

Tony Cheval 11-29-05 03:05 PM

Is this really the place to be discussing hacker/warez issues?

chrisash 11-29-05 03:06 PM

no hacking here ..........i was just wandering how my friend can get an account too!!!!! :)

studiopet 11-29-05 03:12 PM

I wasn't talking hacking/warez, just NAT, however this thread morphed into a discussion of some mythical application that doesn't exist IMHO.

I would like to clarify though that I was wrong on one of my points. You can run multiple PC's with PS from an internal network that is routing out one IP address. In regards to not being able to have multiple accounts on one PC, my head is still spinning.

rookette22 11-29-05 04:06 PM

who's talking about hacking anything ?

If you really want to know how you can get other PS accounts just pm me ok...and it's only good for Windows XP users.

I didn't know chatting about Windows XP stuff would be illegal on here lol

Nikita 11-29-05 04:26 PM

I think my husband and I had the same issue, Chrisash. He had set up PStars on my computer for himself, then when I later tried to create an account it would give me the error you mentioned getting. We tried everything including uninstalling and when that didn't work checking the registry to see if there was something left over.

Finally, we figured out what to do, and I think the solution is what rookette is referring to. We use XP so I don't know if this will work with other Operating Systems. What we did was created another user profile on the computer (you know, so that two or more people can use the same compter, but have different logins). There I set up PS again and was able to sign up for my own account with no issues. I then got rid of the separate user profile and returned to my original one and was able to log into PS, again with no issues.

Hopefully this helps. :)

chrisash 11-29-05 05:29 PM

Thanks I got it. Took your advise

Talking Poker 11-30-05 08:14 PM

I wonder if your friend's screen name is ms demi..........

Whoa - Someone just got busted!

I haven't decided if I need to reban you or not yet. If you weren't such an idiot as ms demi, I would allow you to stay, since you've been fine since your fresh start.... but you were pretty bad. Bad enough to earn yourself a one year ban as ms demi, when I've been handing out 7 day bans to most of the tools around here.

Have anything to say for yourself before I make my decision?

Talking Poker 11-30-05 08:16 PM

BTW, please do not LIE in your response, or I will insta-ban you. You've been busted, I have rock solid proof, and that's that. Fess up now, explain yourself, promise to be a good boy or girl, and I might let you stay.

jaeh00d 11-30-05 08:21 PM

wow! very good detective work, seriously

BDMK 11-30-05 08:25 PM

the good thing about all these cheaters is that they're so 'smart' as to pretty much reveal themselves every single time. :D

either they enter under multiple accts that differ only in one digit or they openly ask how to make multiple accts, or...u name it...

jaeh00d 11-30-05 08:29 PM

so that is cheating in th 1st degree? it was pre meditated and he came out andasked and planned. Damn he had been planning on scamming the freeroll.

im sure he wll get his own from tp

Talking Poker 11-30-05 08:34 PM

<crickets chirping>

chrisash 11-30-05 08:38 PM

busted yes SORRY

When i started as ms demi, i enjoyed the site ....then i started to post a few and got bashed for everyone i guess for being new. Then you can back from being gone and your first reply to me is that DONT EVEN THINK YOU ARE CLOSE TO THE FREEROLL CAUSE YOUR POST COUNT IS AT -8 YES NEGATIVE 8.I was kinda mad that you havent even given me a chance. So i started bashing the forum, but only on this forum yes im sorry just very pissed at first.I have never talked anything to anyother forums...all that is more bashing from the old to the new.I would like to see the proff that i talked trash on another forum about this forum.

After getting over being mad I can back as a guy name because i do enjoy this site.Since my first post as chrisash i have not been bashed at all and hope not to be.

I hope i will beable to continue post and reading on here.

Sorry again

BlibbityBlabbity 11-30-05 08:42 PM

Our first transvestite poster

[actually now that I think of it, that is probably naive... ]

chrisash 11-30-05 08:45 PM

not a transvestite

I am a female.......reason for chrisash is because that is my sons name

BDMK 11-30-05 08:45 PM

how many ppl did u leak the pass to?

all of their nicks, now.

else, im getting the electrodes ready. (bzzzzp, bzzzpp!!!)

PShabi 11-30-05 08:47 PM

He, she, it never was given the PW.

left68wing 11-30-05 08:48 PM

how did they even get the password to begin with? 70 is enough to get it early?

chrisash 11-30-05 08:52 PM

I didnt have the password and dont have it but yes i do want to play in it.

Talking Poker 11-30-05 08:58 PM

Everyone chill. chrisash does not have the password.

Here's what I've decided.... Despite all the shadiness, since you came back and started fresh, you've been fine. So I'm not going to ban you. But I'm also not going to let you play in the freeroll tonight. If you decide to stick around the forum and keep contributing (only time will tell), you will be more than welcome in all future events, etc. No hard feelings. The past is in the past.

rookette22 11-30-05 08:58 PM

hmm you went about it all wrong but you have a point...seems like these guys have something against women being on this site for some reason...maybe they're afraid we actually win that freeroll...lol

i actually felt the same way you did when i first got here; I didn't feel welcomed at all ; but since then i've reread some of my earlier posts and yes ; i was pretty annoying and ...if I were them i'd have banned my ass a long while back; why i'm still here i have no idea.

What i really don't get is why you feel the need to come back under a diff identity ; why didn't you just let TP know how you felt? And don't ever bring the whole forum down for a few bad seeds; this forum is quite kewl and interesting to say the least and damn why am i still here? lol

I'm not the best person to comment on this ....but i hope TP gives you another chance; what can I say "us girls gotta stick together" hmm you female right? lol

psst....btw ; "don't tell anyone i was here cus i said i was outta here in my last post" lol

Talking Poker 11-30-05 08:59 PM

P.S. About that -8 stuff..... I was wading through a LOT of shit at the time and had just gotten through a number of one liner mostly-useless posts from you and maybe overreacted a bit. No offense intended though.

Talking Poker 11-30-05 09:01 PM

For the record, I'm glad to see you back (sorry I offended you earlier) AND I would like to see more women here in the future... not less.

As I told you before, you're welcome to play in the freeroll tonight if you like. Just PM me and I'll send you the password like everyone else. You've qualified, and we all know you're not here JUST for the freeroll.... so if you want to play, play.

BDMK 11-30-05 09:03 PM

the two of u seem to suffer from the annie duke syndrome: because women have been (unjustly!) slighted in the past (all things poker here included), now they're entitled to misbehave any way they want, any time they want, and they should get away with it all just with batting their eyelashes.

eff that, i say.

chrisash 11-30-05 09:06 PM

Well no proplem about the freeroll I am glad yall are understanding and thx for not banning me again(rookette that why not same ID)But now yall know i am female and yes i felt very unwanted because i was a female.

Gl luck to all yall in the free roll and see ya next one.

No offense taken NOW from earlier post to .....MS DEMI

rookette22 11-30-05 09:08 PM

Apology accepted and no thx i'd really rather not play in tonight's freeroll.

I'll be in the cheering section ok? lol ... btw glad to be back & GL TO ALL! :)

PShabi 11-30-05 09:10 PM

Dude, enough with the sexism card really. No one gave a fuck if you were female or not. Most of us probably thought you were a dude.

Your posts are the reason why you caught shit.

Nikita 11-30-05 09:16 PM

First off, although it didn't work, my apologies for giving chrisash the information to change her PS account name. I didn't even suspect ulterior motives. But then I guess if I hadn't, "ms demi" would not have been discovered.

Rookette and chrisash, hopefully this does not offend you, but I don't think you felt unwelcome because you were female (or at least you shouldn't). I also disagree with you assumptions that you were isolated by the rest of the forum for the same reason. I've been on this site for a couple days now and have felt very welcome. I think you both better re-read your initial posts and you should come to the conclusion that it was your behavior and actions that caused your alienation and not you gender.

rookette22 11-30-05 09:23 PM

REREAD MY POST PLZ...cus I did say that i reread my own earlier posts and I did agree that I was annoying...

as for Chrisash ...i had mixed feelings about him/her I didn't quite trust him lol that is the reason I played around with the second user account and never revealed to him the secret of how to get a new account.

BrianSwa 11-30-05 09:28 PM

ugh

you people take entirely tooo many things personal, I didnt even know either of you were female until today when tp suggested I leave my wife of 10 years for you....thanks alot TP im sleeping on the couch now!!!

no one cares what sex you are....lets just get over this let the thread die and move on.
