While you have stars open...
Look at the top of the tournament lobby. 90 player $50 10 table SNGs. I think I will try one out now...
I really like the looks of those. Try it yet? I might have to try one later if I can get some work done...
Yeah I tried one. Terrible players. I dont think they will be very profitable and will probably stay away from them in the future though, as they take almost as long as a 180 man, and pay out half the places (only the FT)
What makes them take as long as the 180?
I just opened one that's been going for 1 1/2 hours and it's down to 17. Seems pretty short to me. It seems to be slowing down now though.
The quality of play in these are very poor. Dont seem very profitable to me.
I don't get it. What are you talking about?
Congratulations, you just won the award for fastest contradiction.
In that case, Mayhem won the award too.
i just tried two of these
and even though i went 0-2 - they seem pretty soft. I have been running pretty bad lately - i think i might pound on these for a while.
I meant less profitable than playing my regular games, and therefore not worth playing.
So far these seem super-weak. I decided to play one. Just donked off a ton of chips, though, to a guy playing JJ really passively.
This just in...$4.40 20 tables. Yuck.
Doesnt sound like such a bad idea, whats wrong with it?
-John |
These (the 90 x $50s) sound awesome... I don't follow some of the logic in this thread about how soft they are meaning they should be avoided, so I think I will give them a whirl. Probably tomorrow, as it's kinda late now to get started in one. At $50 a pop, this could be a nice way of stepping back a bit and (hopefully) rebuilding. Figure if I multi-table 3 of these at a time and FT 20% of them... that should be profitable, right?
Let's see - what's the payout structure? $1350 $900 $540 $450 $360 $292.50 $247.50 $202.50 $157.50 That's not bad, but it is a bit less than I was hoping it would be. Maybe I will hammer 10 of these as a little experiment tomorrow... |
I like them. Busted 14th in my first and if this guy hadn't found a backdoor flush against my QQ I would have made the money in just over 2 hours. The play so far seems just about as weak as the $22s. I might have to play in a few of these and see how they go.
count me in, but im saving money for WSOP attempts. Im playing well at the moment, but im getting beaten upon pre Final table, keep getting just in the bubble. pissing me off now
Hmmm... I'm actually kinda interested in these. I'm still sticking to the low limits and working at these will probably help my bankroll better than continuing to grind out the $1-$5 MTTs. And if the $22s and $55s are soft, I can only expect these to be worse. :)
Good logic. I think these would be great for low bankrollers.... I suspect the reason some people don't want to see them is because they will be taking some of the fish away from the $22 ones.
i really like to stick to just mtt play and sometimes when i get home if there isnt a low limit one starting ill jump into what ever limit is about to start, which is horrible for my bankroll management. so with that in mind, hopefully these should be good for me because no matter what time i get on i can fire one of those low limit mtts up and stay away from the higher limit ones.

I actually played one earlier today. It plays a lot like the 45 person $1.20 SnGs. I busted about halfway through the field when my AQs was busted by KQo (of course the K comes on the river).
Final two tables pay out, 1st is $216. It looks like it takes about 2-2.5 hrs to make it to the money and about 3.5-4 to finish. |
Bingo.

Was I saved by the Kiss of Death or not?
Was away from comp for just a few seconds. Hit my toe on desk, trying to get to the raise button. I was too late, as you can plainly see.

Why are you posting hands in this thread?
They pertain to this thread.
Finished 39th. edit: But it wasn't my thread, so I will remove them with your permission. |
You don't need to remove them. I just wasn't sure why they were here. If you want people to watch while you are playing and keep us updated on a tourney while you are playing, post in the Railbird section. If you want to discuss a specific hand (advice, showing off, complaining about a bad beat), we have sections for that too... For any of the above, I think at the very least a new thread would be in order.
No worries or anything. I was just trying to stop it before it got too messy... |
