TPF League II...

What do you guys think? Is everyone ready to give this another go?

I wonder if we can talk Blibbity into coming up with a schedule and setting everything up for us again. :D :D :D

Official League II Thread:

(Feel free to start a new thread, BB).

Basics:
-One time $10 entry fee (prize pool to be split by the top 3 league leaders at the end).
-20 $10+1 tourneys: two per week for 10 weeks
-Only your top 10 scores count (so no need to play in every tourney).
-Scoring system the same as last time (?)

I think we should have one mid-week nightly tourney every week, rotating from T-W-Th and one weekend tourney, switching from S-Su. But I'm game for as many as 3 per week if people are up for it. 1 isn't enough though.

This is all subject to change, of course. Feel free to debate/suggest away here, and once we get some stuff worked out, we'll create a new official thread with the schedule, participants, prizes, etc.

Who's in?

jillaj 04-02-06 03:03 AM

I'm in.

Zybomb 04-02-06 03:05 AM

yea me too

Robbie Robb 04-02-06 08:04 AM

I'm in. Gotta defend my title :)

PShabi 04-02-06 10:08 AM

You know me. I like 1 weekend + 1 week night tourney / week. Three seems like too much.

bunny 04-02-06 10:31 AM

Summer time's just around the corner....I won't be around as often as I am now.

Would I be able to play when and if I'm around, said tourney date?

Nikita 04-02-06 10:53 AM

I'm game for this one. There are enough extra tourneys in this one that it won't hurt me too much if I have to miss a few due to work.

MAYHEM45 04-02-06 12:39 PM

Im in.

eejit101 04-02-06 01:03 PM

yes, m'in

Akverno 04-03-06 12:51 AM

If we can wait a month I'm definately game. Get out of school in early may.

Boobie Lover 04-03-06 01:14 AM

All these participants, and none of them are dead money. Well, I'm in for the cause of donating to people superior to me.

Welcome everyone to the one and only person in this contest that is dead money.

Talking Poker 04-03-06 01:16 AM

Huh? Wha? Lou didn't sign up yet, did he? :)

Now, if only we could convince moderator Blibbity Blabbity to come back to the forum and be in charge again. He did such a great job last time!

BlibbityBlabbity 04-03-06 07:58 AM

I'm still here.

I will organize this....I will try to post the basic stuff up later tonight (schedule, rules). Looks like we already have 12-13 players:)

eejit101 04-03-06 10:53 AM

Even i thought blabbity left. i wasnt here for the last one, and there is no dead money yet either, cept maybe TPs cash.

studiopet 04-03-06 12:32 PM

Count me in

I've been lying low for awhile trying to find the Zen in my game again - but you can count me in for this.

JDMcNugent7 04-03-06 07:16 PM

Aequitas58 04-03-06 09:50 PM

Looks good to me.

melioris 04-04-06 09:26 AM

if you are going with this schedule, might as well call this tournament the TalkingPoker Forum World Cup

And I can't make it.

BlibbityBlabbity 04-04-06 09:34 AM

too long? or some other reason? This is not set in stone so feel free to comment.

Robbie Robb 04-04-06 10:09 AM

I think it's a good length. Take a look at other leagues that exist: bowling leagues and the like usually go around 8 weeks or so. Most of the poker leagues around town here run quarterly.

Don't forget everyone: only your top ten places are counted towards the final rankings. It is NOT necessary (but obviously in your interests) to play in EVERY event. This schedule allows those that can only play on weekends to get in ten events.

melioris 04-04-06 10:32 AM

just because it is going to overlap with the World Cup, that is all. For those of us that the WC is important, everything gets framed by that reference.

eejit101 04-04-06 11:19 AM

two words, multi table?

SirFWALGMan 04-04-06 11:26 AM

Me too

me in me want TP money

PShabi 04-04-06 11:38 AM

So that rules out 99% of North America. World Cup? Really, no one in the USA cares.

Talking Poker 04-04-06 12:11 PM

As someone who will not watch 5 seconds of the World Cup, can you give us more info? When are those games? Surely not ALL of our tourneys overlap WC games, right? And most of these start at 9:30 PM ET. Where is the WC being played? If it's in Europe, I can't think they are playing games at 2:30 AM+, are they?

Depending on how a couple of things shake out for me in the near future, I will miss somewhere from a few to a lot of these, but I'm still in for sure. And I'll throw some extra loot or prizes or something into the league prize pool as well.

studiopet 04-04-06 02:25 PM

Schedule works for me.

Tony Cheval 04-04-06 09:20 PM

Oh hey cool, I just made a liar out of Shabi! :D :D :D

PShabi 04-04-06 10:33 PM

If I had a dollar for everytime...........

eejit101 04-04-06 10:55 PM

World cup is in barcalona. Games start in the afternoon, so add the 5 hour GMt - EST difference and your there.

Id play in the world cup for wales if they have an event for that. Maybe ill get in englands.

Talking Poker 04-04-06 11:12 PM

You're doing the math wrong. Noon in Barcelona is 4-7AM in the States. 5 PM there is 9AM-noon in the States.

Assuming the games are somewhere in that time range, I don't see the conflict.

9:30 PM ET = 2:30 AM your time. No soccer at 2:30 AM, right?

Tony Cheval 04-05-06 12:05 AM

Actually, the soccer World Cup is in Germany.

Talking Poker 04-05-06 12:24 AM

The same math applies. They won't be playing at 9:30 PM ET.

eejit101 04-05-06 12:58 AM

LMFAO, i thought you guys meant the pokerstars world cup, silly me.

OK, as the knowledgable world cup one.....

The games normally start at 3 times in the day, ones 11am GMT, ones 3pm GMT, ones 5.30pm GMT. And yes, they are in germany, which is the same times as here normally.

SOOOO

This makes the times for the EST as follows.

6am EST
10am EST
midday ish EST

NO conflicts there at all.

IM soo looking forward to having something to celebrate this year.... come on england.

lightfungus 04-06-06 11:01 AM

Cockadoodal doo, I'm in too.

Nikita 04-14-06 08:16 PM

Are we making this official? This is only a couple weeks away. It might be a good idea if we start getting everyone's money in. As well, I'm guessing we are using the same point structure and payout schedule as the last league.

Talking Poker 04-15-06 12:10 AM

Ask Blibbity. I forgot all about this. :o

Akverno 04-17-06 05:32 AM

So, I'm in but I won't be around for a while. I was just wondering if all the the tournaments were mtt nlhe. Or if we were going to substitute a couple with out games (heads up matches, omaha, anything like that.) I was just wondering what the status was.

BlibbityBlabbity 04-17-06 12:33 PM

I think it would be cool to mix some other games in to the mix. (PL Omaha H/L, PL Omaha, PL HE) I know people on here generally hate limit tourneys so we should probably stick to PL/NL games.

We can start tranferring money to TP's Stars account anytime. $10 league fee. Entries into each event will be $10+$1.

League scoring will be the same system as last time. I will type it all up and post it with the paid sign up list as we get closer.

Talking Poker 04-17-06 01:46 PM

To clarify, my Stars account is TalkingPoker, so transfer to that one. As you do, post your Stars name in this thread, so we know exactly who is paid up.

So far, jillaj is in, and I am in.

Edit: I would prefer to keep all of the tourneys NLHE. Why? Because I don't think most people like the other games enough, and I think it would hurt our turnout. We can do that someday (individually), but I'd prefer to keep the league 100% NLHE.

bunny 04-17-06 02:10 PM

I thought your Stars account was Rogue23?

Akverno 04-17-06 02:55 PM

How much fun a horse tourney would be, too bad. I guess I was mostly pushing for a heads up tourney, since I've seen that the turnout for those isn't too bad, at least we could mix things up a bit, maybe have points for making it to quarters, then semis, then finals, then champion. I'll transfer in about three weeks when I get back home.

Nikita 04-17-06 02:58 PM

My money is transferred. N1kita at PokerStars.

I actually don't mind playing other games besides NLHE. I just suck at anything other than hold 'em.

Talking Poker 04-17-06 04:52 PM

My player account is, yes. But my TP "business" account (for money transfers, etc.) is TalkingPoker. After all the money I've sent you in the past month, I would have thought you would have noticed by now where it was coming from.

bunny 04-17-06 05:40 PM

Nope. I just looked at the $$$$. :p

Robbie Robb 04-17-06 05:52 PM

Money transferred.

PS Name: Robbie Robb

Talking Poker 04-25-06 12:46 AM

We need to get a lot more league fees transferred and we need to finalize the schedule. Let's go people.

Zybomb 04-25-06 01:35 AM

yea yea yea (sent)

Edit: Robbie, Im not missing the last 2 tournies this time chump

Boobie Lover 04-25-06 02:05 AM

Funds transfered.
