Since the playoffs are almost upon us I just checked the playoff schedule and why in the hell do we have the championship game in week 16 and not 15? Any good player on a good team with a playoff spot locked up won't see much time. Anyone want to bet that after dominating the league all year I go out in round 1?

Right... Week 17 is a pretty standard FF SuperBowl week. After I spank GeoffM this weekend (time to put his silly 8 game winning streak to rest), I'll be tied for second place in the overall standings, and positioned for the playoffs.

I cliched a playoff spot...

I won the Superbowl last year... we'll see what happens this year, not feeling as confident with this team. I hate how we have 14 teams in the league, 2 too many teams IMO.

I hate how one of those teams hasn't logged in since BEFORE his autodraft.

Next year, we need to pick a commissioner who is around the 48 hours before the draft and can kick people like that out of the league (ahem, fungus).

I hate how my top two draft picks were Edgerrin James and Randy Moss and QB was Culpepper. :thumbsup:

I like how my top 2 QB's are on the IR. Great way to enter teh playoffs.

James had a good year in 2005. Moss and Culpepper were a gamble, h eh.

:twocents: Not that I'm in this league or anything (I should have been, so hopefully next year), but I felt too compelled to respond to this.

I generally think it's a bad idea to have a fantasy championship in Week 17. At that point in the season, too many playoff berths have already been decided, and too many other teams have packed it in for next year. Coaches like to use that week to either rest their stars, or to see what kind of talent they may have for the upcoming season. So a lot of times, fantasy studs get a break. Yet in Week 16, you'll almost always still see them play, even if they've already clinched home-field.

If you have a dominating fantasy team, and your top players just happen to be on the top teams in pro football, you shouldn't be relegated to a Week 17 crapshoot just because the real teams your studs play for have rested their guns in preparation for the playoffs.

That was a typo. Our SB is in Week 16, just like everyone else's. I was agreeing with Rob, who was basically saying there are 17 weeks in a season and our SB is in Week 16. Note the OP:

Either that or they let retiring local QB legends dropkick FGs and your kicker gets screwed. :thumbsup:

Or, they let certain future Hall of Fame quarterbacks run naked bootlegs in the direction of other future Hall of Fame defensive ends (unblocked, mind you), while said DE "sacks" said QB to set "sack record."

I'm trying to login and pick up a receiver for the game tonight since Horn is out, and it won't load the page. Looks as though I'll be losing anyway (despite 3 TD LT) but it would be nice to field an entire team, a Brees TD pass to the guy I grab could result in a 12 point TD.

Teehee. Their Pass D was fantastic...375 yards of rushing is a bit iffy though...

Looks like a lost a heartbreaker. LT got shut down and Brees continues to struggle, and even Wayne struggled. 1 guy puts up 1 mesely TD, I likely win.

Thanks man! This is one of my prouder fantasy wins as I didn't have a stable QB all year and rode the coat tails of the Chicago D and Maurice Jones-Drew which was an early season pickup and turned out to be a top fantasy player. It's all about those early season pickups in my mind. The Champion has arrived. I look forward to another championship season next year.

Yeah...my starting QB went out on a stretcher. I autodrafted an RB that was on IR. And my top WR didn't play the first 4 weeks.

I was set to go from the start.

Funny how that works. I had the 2 MVPs, 1 the most consistent QB all year, and he decided to not show up at all the last 2 weeks. Brees, the guy who got me to the playoffs in 3 out of 4 of my pools, also cost me in all 3 of them.

I just want to let Marvin Harrison know that I hate his bitch ass. Maybe he would find out if he every came to this forum. Since he doesn't I will have to find another way to let him know. He foiled my rein of dominance on this league and I will hate him forever.
