Moneymaker Millionaire Finalists
 

Just a quick article about the finalists in the moneymaker millionaire. I found the only interesting profile on there was the one about KURN. :thumbsup:

They distilled a lot of information to get that. While I am *from* NJ, it has been 33 years since the last time I lived there. If I win, maybe the taxman will look for me in the wrong State. ;)

I'll be sending them a photo today. After that...be afraid, be very afraid.:D

as predicted - you are the oldest there, but 2 are in their 50's too

still 11 profiles unposted. I'm surprised at the age distribution so far.

Median 32.5, mean 34.1. that's at least 7 years older than I expected.

Cool about the 5 languages (what are they?) and VERY cool about the motorcycle!

English, Spanish, German, French, Japanese (the last two are pretty minimal, though) and of course, some Klingon.

I can also read Portuguese with some accuracy and I undestand a bit of spoken Italian, particularly the dialect of Naples, but not enough to survive there for long.


I'll probably use some of my winnings to buy Rosetta Sone to improve my Japanese and maybe learn Arabic or Farsi.

The club I hung out with and went to Sturgis with had an interesting tradition. Out on a run, or just generally partying anywhere outdoors...1st guy to crash got set on fire.

Funny thing was, it was almost always the club president.:cool:

First trip to Sturgis I drove the club's van, 2nd I rode my Sportster. It was '81-'82, so I was 31 for the 2nd one.

Thanks, Brian. I'll have a bit of a cheering section there unless TP, Boobie and a couple of my old 2+2 buddies are all starting the PCA on Day 2.

I do, however, have a lot to live up to. After all, I did say this:

BTW - I didn't post it, but about a week and a half ago, I randomly decided that I'm going to make the tv table of the PCA. It's really just a formality of doing it now.

Three Observations
 

1) I can't believe 11 qualifiers still haven't submitted answers to the questionnaire. Do they not check their e-mail? The greedy part of me wonders if maybe some (all?) of them are under 18 and maybe I'll only have to beat 15 people for the million. :thumbsup:

2) I love the comments in the full contact forum. I personally am looking forward to having a bunch of anonymous no-lifers post endlessly on what an idiot donkey I am to even have had the chance to win a million bucks, let alone actually win it. It must be the very definition of "laughing all the way to the bank." :D

3) man, that KURN guy looks like he belongs being locked up. :eek:

You look way tougher/scarier/less nerdy than I expected! Well done!

Anytime someone wins something like this, they will have HAD to get lucky - that much is true, and there really in no denying it. But, at the same time, they also have to have some pretty solid poker skills. I really don't think you can get this far without one or the other. Will the person who wins this be the most skilled player of everyone who competed in the MM freerolls? Of course not... but they will have earned a much deserved $1 million, so more power to them. Ignore all the haters.

BTW, I love how people look at results from thepokerdb as gospel. Do people even realize that they are only listing WINNINGS - and from certain types of tourneys (ie, winning WPT/WSOP seats isn't included)? Not everyone plays 10 tourneys per day on Stars, you know. Some people play on other sites, or live, or cash games, and some of those "big winners" have spent well more than their winnings on buy ins and are actually overall losers.

For my money, modelx looks the scariest. It could just be he is Canadian, but I would keep the kiddies away from that guy just to be sure.......

You may rest assured that I will NOT take the car. Huge waste of money considering I'll owe over $400,000 in taxes. Why on earth would I spend 30% of my net on one car?

I can buy two really good cars for half the cost of the Aston Martin.

Don't worry... those of us with half a brain or more knew you'd take the cash. I have no idea why anyone would ever opt for the prize (assuming it's listed at equal value) in a situation like this. I mean, that's effectively saying that out of everything in the entire world that you could spend $188k on (or whatever it is), this is EXACTLY what you would buy.
