The guy couldn't have played it worse and gets rewarded w/a runner runner backdoor flush.

im not sure about having played it worse. He flat called preflop, which is fine. Normally if the board is 2 4 6, my 77 is looking nceish at this stage. And im sure another set possibility would have raised from the blinds preflop. Im raise from the blinds there with any pair. You bet the flop, which i would be guessing 3 5 wouldnt do, id raise like he did, maybe more. Then your all in would cause me concern. Id think, but if he has money to fall back on then i dont mind the call.

You got sucked out on yeah, butt he opponents play was OK i reckon:confused:

someone will disagree with me.

After the flop he saw a bet and then a reraise in front of him and while that board doesn't look too scary for 77, he should have known something was up. After seeing that action in front of him he decides to re-reraise which, and I'm no expert, seems like a dumb thing to do w/the action in front of you while holding 77. Then I push him all-in after his re-reraise and he calls that which was just flat dumb. My betting after the flop was screaming at him that he was beat but he ignored that and got lucky.

By the way, I'm betting that everytime with a str8 because of the flush draw, are you saying you wouldn't bet in that case?

Talking Poker 03-13-06 01:00 AM

Try to name a few hands that RD could have had (based on his betting) that 77 actually had beat. I certainly can't think of very many. HE was in the BB to boot - he could have had anything. Even 62 would be well ahead of the 77 here.

eejit101 03-13-06 01:07 AM

sorry,

1 - id bet the flop, didnt see the words right
2 - how did he see a "bet and a reraise" with only 2 eople in the pot on the flop?
3 - thinking about what TP said....i can still see a call and a fold. Maybe top pair with a opender, or a pair and draw, or somethin like that i could put RD on.

4 - id prolly lay this down looking back, but i can see "reasons" for calling...

How do you call and fold to a bet that puts you all-in?

Zybomb 03-14-06 02:40 AM

you were dealing with a level one player here (im sure not uncommon for .10/.25 blinds). He simply only knew what he had, which was an overpair. He put no thought into what you had, what anyone else had, or the betting before him. He simply saw he had an overpair, and was ready to put all his money in because your 6 is no good (nevermind that was too far along for him)

PS: Runner runner beats are always fun aren't they

eejit101 03-14-06 02:54 AM

I meant i can still see reasons for a call and a fold. I need to think more before typing of how it looks, not in my mind. Jesus, sorry dude

Reel Deal 03-14-06 10:25 AM

No need to apologize, just (as you said) think before you type. :)
