Rambly Drunk High (Spoiled Blog) Post

Sitting here at 6 AM, I think I've had a revelation of sorts. Be it the drugs, but somehow I think I am seeing it clearer now. Before, as a professional poker player, I was happy making good, hell even great money. I'm certainly not hurting for cash in any way, but there are purchases in which I still can't make.

You see during the day, me and a group of buddies looking for a sick party house to rent out, there were no rental houses available at the moment, but there were houses to own. We are rolling around in the sickest part of town where skiing is great and these 4-5 bedroom log cabins are basically super fucking sick. I call up the agent and he tells me the house is 900k. I almost shit myself. Fuck, I'm rich, just not THAT rich.

And that's what makes me realize I am not happy with myself. I've just become content grinding 5/10 for a reasonable good house, but I can't just go ahead right now and dump 900k in cash right there on a house I was just cruising by. I want to do that. I want to be a baller. Call it a material want that I shouldn't have, or fuck even a spoiled bastard that runs too well at life, but fuck it, I WANT THIS. I want to be the fucking king. Elvis ain't got shit on me.

And that's why I need to play more. No more one or two hour working days. You know how ridiculous that is that I can make 250k a year playing ONE HOUR A DAY GRINDING MID STAKES! That is ridiculous. Just think how much I'd make if I were playing say even 5 hours a day and moving up finally. Something easily done with all the free time I waste on the internet (on forums like this!) and stop being a vagina. I shouldn't be wasting away my time with mid stakes shit.

As a professional poker player, I even fucking know this. I'll go to the nearest store even if it costs 50% than a place 2 minutes farther away. That place is too far away, I'm wasting away 2 minutes of my day SHOPPING. And shit, shopping is more important than reading about 300/600 on FTP, because who cares about that? Unless of course, I am the motherfucker at 300/600. And Fuck it, I'm going to make it. No more grinding 5/10. I'm taking on you high stake bitches here soon. Fuck it I'm rolled for it, but was always too much of a pussy before. No more.

I shall strive to be more. Not only in my career, but in my life too. There's no reason why I should be out of shape. Look at how much free time I have a day, even if I work 5 hours a day. That's at least 7 hours a day of shit I can do. You telling me I can't squeeze in 1-2 hours at the fucking gym. Of course I can. Of course I should. And fucking A, of course I will.

That's what I am going to change. No more being a pussy. I need to do this shit NOW. Not a day later, not an hour later. I don't need to keep making excuses for myself. I WANT TO BE THE FUCKING KING!

I'm off to go to the local gym open here and going to get a personal trainer. This is the day I changed my life from semi-rich fat kid, to guy everyone knows as being an awesome motherfucker.

good luck, you might find it helpfull to change your diet too, it will not only keep you sharp throughout the day but also will guarantee more muscle gain and fat demolishing. I started weightlifting two years ago as I was hopefully out of shape, now I'm muscle-toned and boxing my first match in two weeks. To quote Henry Ford: “If you think you can do it, or you think you can't do it, You are right.”

If you need any help setting up a good diet just lemme know.

Reel Deal 01-25-08 10:52 AM

I'd love to hear your advice on this.

Wes 01-25-08 10:54 AM

If that could be dairy free, I would be majorly down with that.

buakawgirl 01-25-08 11:13 AM

dairy free is the best (however I do occasionally enjoy drinking raw milk), my diet mostly consists of wholesome foods (lots of fruits, vegetables, brown rice, nuts, raw egs and lean meats (ostrich steaks are the bomb!) ). If you really want to lose weight cutting back on wheat (this includes whole wheat products) and refined carbohydrates is a must. Our bodies were just not meant to digest this kind off stuff. It may seem spartan at first but the gains will speak for itself. I will post a more detailed diet plan sometime tomorow (if you guys are still interested).

Wes 01-25-08 11:19 AM

Interesting. I've heard wheat is vital for body nutrition. I guess if you want to lose weight it's probably not the best idea though. and i could definitely go without the eggs.

Reel Deal 01-25-08 11:22 AM

Absolutely.

buakawgirl 01-25-08 11:28 AM

It can be very nutritious when it's grown and prepared in the approriate manner, unfortunaly this is not the case with most wheat products nowadays.

Raw eggs are actually a great source of biotin (egg yolk) but most people find it gross (I just think of Rocky and the eye of the tiger and chow it all down).

MAYHEM45 01-25-08 11:35 AM

Good call on the personal trainer dude, but you are def not fat.

Good stuff. Seriously.

I have no desire to be balling 300/600, but I hear ya about being a pussy and not moving up, and about playing only an hour or two per day - WTF? I also TOTALLY hear ya about needing to find time to exercise.

When you start taking shots at the nosebleeds, I think it would be cool if you'd post rail threads. I'm sure I'm not alone in thinking it would be cool to rail you there.

Spidey44 01-25-08 01:59 PM

And no worries bro...even ballers don't necessarily pay cash for houses.

Reel Deal 01-25-08 02:03 PM

I was thinking that too... but also thinking it might be hard to qualify for a loan with poker as your profession as I'd imagine most lenders are pretty big nits. But, who knows.

Spidey44 01-25-08 02:14 PM

Thought the same after posting. Cosign with someone perhaps and a reasonable down payment I'd assume would be pretty easy to qualify for something.

lightfungus 01-25-08 04:23 PM

... you left 12 hours to sleep?

Talking Poker 01-25-08 07:12 PM

Sure they are.

Apparently you have't turned on CNBC for a total of 90 seconds any time in the past 6 months.

Words of the year: "Subprime."

Kurn 01-26-08 10:15 AM

He only needs to go subprime if he has poor credit. No doc loans are out there. If he has good credit, he just needs to be able to put 30%+ down.

Reel Deal 01-26-08 10:40 PM

Yeah, I didn't think this through initially... it would be secured debt so they should't care.

Kurn 01-27-08 10:05 AM

The more I think about it, he doesn't even have to go no doc. He can get a normal mortgage the same way any self-employed person can, by using 2 trailing years of tax returns as income verification.

herschelw 01-28-08 01:42 AM

From what I've read as a poker pro it's more like 5 years needed.

herschelw 01-28-08 01:45 AM

The personal trainer is a great idea. I got one 2 months ago and prob avg going once a week over that time and lost 15 pounds. I have started eating a little better but still eat like shit by most people's standards. Realistically at your income level you should be hiring someone to do all the menial tasks in your life because the value of your time is so significant. In turn you should require yourself to work a few extra hour to cover that cost and more.

Kurn 01-28-08 08:59 AM

Probably depends on the lender and how big the downpayment.

JDMcNugent7 02-05-08 03:24 PM

hows this going for u, r u actually stickin to it all?

This last week I kinda realized my life was outta control and for like 3 days i was really disappointed with myself, i mean ive been having tons of fun but im a soph in college and should have accomplished alot more by now so i think im gettin back on track to get my shit together and it reminded me of this

Wes 02-05-08 07:44 PM

I'm down 25k since then from 5/10 and 10/20.

Talking Poker 02-05-08 11:47 PM

That sucks... but thank you (seriously) for making me feel a better about the sitty shitty bang bang run I've been on for the past few days.
