Decent piece from the mainsteam media.


Mike Sexton, who hosts the popular World Poker Tour on the Travel Channel, said the ban would hurt what has become considered a sport.

"I wouldn't say it would put poker in a death spiral but in the long run it will hurt the growth of poker," Sexton said. "The World Series of Poker is going to be devastated over this."

Regarding the first statement - DUH.

And regarding the second.... Please. :rolleyes: I'll lay even money right now that there will be less players in the 2007 Main Event than there were in 2006. Anyone want action?

They'll be lucky to break 5000.

And to be honest, is that such a bad thing?

it just means that a site like stars, that is still catering to US players will give out EVEN more seats than they did last year to make up for some of the people that will be lose over the ban.
