Pictures 3-5 - Tiger teeing off on 15, 16 and 18 Picture 6 = my oldest getting Lee Westwood's autograph Picture 7 = 17th green |
Good stuff... looks like fun.

Question for GT: doesn't it seem like Tiger is much more upright at the end of his swing than he used to be? In the 4th pic he almost looks to be leaning to the left (btw, he block-pushed that drive up onto the hill along the right side of the fairway).
|
Looking at his feet and where his hips seem to be pointed, it looks as though he was trying to hit some sort of fade.
But, the problem with Tiger's swing since working with Haney has been to lay the club off on the top (something that Haney teaches everyone) and then, on the downswing, the club gets stuck behind and it produces a big high block to the right (or a snap hook if Tiger tries to overcorrect). I would say that particular picture looks as though Tiger knew what was coming halfway through the swing and the ending was a result of him somehow trying to correct for it. |
I see that too and that's strange as well becuase the 16th is definitely a tee shot where you want to hit a draw around the trees to the left as that gives a better angle to the green and also shortens the hole.

Man, you guys have good eyes. I'd hate to see a still of my swing analyzed. :o
|
Realllly looks like Gordon Hayward with the sunnies.

Well, I'm kind of cheating.
I am enough of a golf junkie to know what the major issue is with Tiger Woods' swing since Haney became his teacher. And, with RR telling me where the ball ended up...you can tell what the problem was with that particular swing. So, I didn't really use the picture much for that. As for looking to see what type of shot he was TRYING to hit, that's just an educated guess based on where his feet seem to be pointing and the fact that his hips are way, way open. So, either he was aiming to the left or he really fucked up on that one swing. ==== Of course, I totally believe that I did analyze some golf swings a couple years ago from just a few still shots that you guys posted. |

I could've used that person giving advice a few hours ago.
37 on the front 50 on the back =( 7/7 fairways hit, 8/9 greens in regulation, and 13 putts on the front. 1/6 fairways hit, 2/9 greens in regulation, and 19 putts on the back. And the 5 bad drives on the back where high block right slices that I talked about in that thread. I missed my first hole in one by 3 inches too. Hit the stick and dropped the ball right next to the hole on the 2nd hole of the day. |
Heading out to play the Stadium course this afternoon!!!!!!

I'm sad to admit I haven't played a single round of gold since that one with you, RD. So, that's like 1 round in the last 4 years.
Time, money, priorities, excuses... the list goes on and on. Ouch. |
