I came.

melioris 05-29-10 05:19 PM

what games did you get?

sjay2k 05-29-10 06:05 PM

2 tickets each for:

Australia vs Germany
Australia vs Serbia
Denmark v Netherlands
Denmark v Cameroon
Denmark v Japan
Brazil v Ivory Coast
Spain v Chile
Spain v Honduras
Argentina v Greece
France v Mexico

R16 final (group E / F, prob Netherlands or Italy)
Quarter final (E/F/G/H)
Semi final (E/F/G/H - decent chance of being Spain v Brazil)

Fortunately/unfortunately all of my applications were successful. I don't really want all of these, it will be too difficult to get around to all the stadiums (basically would require travelling nearly every day and FIFA/SA haven't organised the transport very well). I might try to sell a couple of the more awkward ones. They are all Category 2, except a couple are Category 3.

If anyone is up for some flipping/other betting I will almost certainly give you action.

Those are some solid games there.

melioris 05-29-10 07:50 PM

yeah, sucks to be you:cheers:

In the match play, I take it that the Australia games on required. Going with that parameter, it is tough because you then have to miss the Netherlands/Denmark game on the 14th some 300 miles away and the Argentina game on the 22 again about 300 miles away. You should be able to unload those tickets readily. I imagine you are going to the two Spain games, the Brazil/Ivory Coast game (potentially one of the best in the group stages) and probably Mexico/France?

Plus all the knockout stage games.

I am completely jealous, enjoy!

I think I'll sell the Arg v Greece tickets and maybe France v Mexico

Dude...

sjay2k 05-29-10 10:03 PM

That Messi guy isn't worth watching is he?

GTDawg 05-29-10 10:14 PM

It's just rough that you are turning down 2 games that are both between 2 Top-20 FIFA ranked teams. And, it's not like you're really sacrificing a whole lot considering the other games you are going to...

Kurn 05-29-10 10:47 PM

Is there enough interest to do a forum bracket contest?

I'm up for it.

melioris 06-01-10 02:09 PM

The US is based in Petoria, so when you are there wish them luck for me!

Miky12 06-02-10 07:44 PM

I want to see Brazil Vs Ivory cost match.
But due to crisis of ticket my dream will not become true.

Kurn 06-11-10 07:20 PM

$10 winner take all blind draw pool at work and I run goot and draw Argentina.

So much for national pride. Show me the money!!! :donkey

sjay2k 06-12-10 09:14 PM

Amazing job by the USA to get a 1-1 draw against England. Probably the worst goalie blunder by the English guy I've ever seen.

The gf and I are going to our first match of the tourney, AUSTRALIA v Germany tomorrow night here in Durban. Go Cahill!!!!!!!!!!

Kurn 06-13-10 08:38 AM

The guy's lucky he doesn't live in Colombia.

melioris 06-13-10 09:07 PM

tough loss today Sjay. The straight Red to Cahill was total bullshit.

Kurn 06-19-10 10:38 AM

Not for nothin' (as we say in Rhode Island) but having a guy from Mali ref a World Cup game is like having High School refs work the NBA finals.

Thankfully, England is playing with no intensity. :twocents:

It has been one of the best World Cups so far since 1978.
holland been doing great and i dont care what people say about the type of play. Its all about the win.

Must admit that the Cape Town Stadium looks better then when i was last there in 2009.
