Aequitas (AC casinos close)

What's going on in that screwed up state of yours? They really shutting down the casino's on Wednesday? I really can't imagine it, but that's what I am hearing.

Info?

Interesting thread title...

Anyway, I have no idea. As a matter of fact, I haven't heard any news of this... I've been really busy lately with this new house which is kicking my ass.

I DID manage to get 5th in a $4 SnG last night for a whopping $46 or $48 bizzzzucks. Booyah! LOL.

Tough being that busy, congrats on the new house though.

Word is the state can't seem to pass a budget and all non-essential employees will not be reporting to work until it's resolved. The casinos are monitored by state employees that fall under the "Non-essential" listing which means effective Wednesday 8:00 AM they will have to close the doors.

I'd imagine they get busy and figure this out, but it's getting too close to the deadline for sure.

Is this what you're talking about?

Bizarre

It is amazing they have already shut down the lottery, which I assume brings in plenty of cash to the state coffers. I can't imagine anything more counterproductive.

Local coverage here

Those who gamble on the state lottery are already feeling the effects of the shutdown now that sales are suspended indefinitely. Alisse Lenardo, manager of Patsy's Margate Card Studio, had to turn away most of her regulars Sunday when they came in to play.

Politicians are the best!

Morons.

Penguinfan 07-05-06 01:05 PM

Closed the doors and ushered everyone out this morning, un-friggin-believable!

We can't work out a budget so let's flush 1.2 million a day in tax revenue down the shidder while were at it.
