Invigilator 07-19-08 08:30 AM

That's tournament poker for ya. Sorry bro. If not for that JJ hand, could have been a very different story. Keep it up dude.

Talking Poker 07-19-08 02:37 PM

A bad day would have been -100% ROI.

This is just an annoying day.

melioris 07-19-08 05:43 PM

I got to say this is a poorly veiled brag post, nothing more.

stormswa 07-19-08 06:24 PM

ummm no, being down is never a brag dude.
I have 7 FTs this week and im still down because keep taking horrible beats at FT's like the one I just freaking took. Trust me Im not going to brag about being down money.

hey look at me everyone I lost money arnt I great.

FUCK.

yes im freaking upset obv.

redbank09 07-19-08 06:50 PM

ive been there, it sucks when u take 7th-9th and barely win any money when all it would take is to advance to top 4 and u could really make some profit. i freaking bust out early at fts all the time. i would be up like 4k this month if i could just finish off mtts strong

stormswa 07-19-08 07:05 PM

you missed todays, another FT of a $10 im in BB with J6 and SB limps and I check. Flop is JJK he bets I call, turn is blank he check and I bet small to induce a bluff. He falls for it and reraises and I shove. He calls with Q9 an hits a ten on river. won $136 instead of being big stack and running for the $700

Talking Poker 07-19-08 08:13 PM

We'd all be big winners if we never lost.

Talking Poker 07-19-08 08:14 PM

Sounds a little suspect, IMO.

You sure you didn't let him pot commit himself with the odds to call an open ender? Maybe he had QT and not Q9?

stormswa 07-19-08 08:57 PM

nope he had Q9 I will get hand off pokertracker now.

trust me hes pot commited 100% im made about results, I wanted him to be pot commited TBH i needed a doubleup.

im not saying win everyone, just play better when i make fts instead of losing so fast. i personally feel like my play could be better late in these mtts.

Talking Poker 07-20-08 02:09 AM

Look at the stacks.

I'm not saying this wasn't a bad beat or that you played it badly... just saying I don't see how you can expect him to fold getting 9:1, as played.

Zybomb 07-20-08 02:17 AM

In Brian's defense, the guy was a 10:1 dog getting 9:1 on his call (and possibly drawing dead) so it's still mathematically incorrect

stormswa 07-20-08 02:43 AM

I dont remember ever saying I wanted him to fold?

stormswa 07-20-08 02:44 AM

here,

just venting over outcome of hand, I wanted him to put his money in bad and he did.

I mean the hand played exactly like I wanted it to play out, every street he pretty much did exaclty what I wanted him to. just unlucky he hit his gutter but im going to win that most of the time and double and was just wishing this was one of those times.
