Darvin Moon

Last night's ESPN ME Day 1D

LOL at Moon checking behind on the river with the nuts.

Apparently Intentionally too lol. His response "I knew you couldnt call" (the flush BACKDOORED)

Haven't seen it yet, but that should be a penalty.

Kurn 08-21-10 02:41 AM

they gave him a 1 hand penalty

Talking Poker 08-22-10 01:39 PM

That is ridiculous. It should be at least an orbit.

I imagine they did the absolutely minimum penalty allowed because it was at the featured table and they wanted to minimize the exposure, but knew they HAD to do something.

Kurn 08-22-10 01:56 PM

I was shocked, too. I always thought it was a 1 hour penalty in the ME, but maybe I'm wrong.

Windbreaker 08-23-10 01:42 AM

I don't think there's any penalty based on time...especially one hour long. I mean if you do it based on time, a penalty in the first level 300 bbs deep, is going to be a lot less significant than an hour long penalty at the final table.

Regardless, a penalty for this type of infraction seems rather dumb. I mean if a guy is dumb enough to check behind the nuts, then I don't want him missing any hands at all.

Like if the player purposely goes out of their way to 'collude' then there should be a huge penalty. If you watch this hand, it's quite obvious that there's no collusion, and that Darvin had a reason to check behind the nuts.

Obviously it's stupid to check the nuts, but it's clear to me that he's not soft playing the guy.

Spidey44 08-30-10 09:54 AM

He was outed by the other players. It appeared the floor/dealer didn't pick up on it.
