A 'sick' read

Yuck.

A group of scientists from the University of Wisconsin in Madison proved as much. They placed men with severe colds alongside a group of perfectly healthy men, and had the group play poker for 12 hours. Twelve of 18 healthy men contracted colds just by breathing the air and touching their faces and the poker game pieces.

I don't know if I can explain this well and I'm probably crazy, but there are certain times when my brain just KNOWS my hands are dirty and in the back of my mind, I KNOW not to touch my face. I think this is mostly because as a lifelong allergy sufferer who loves dogs, when I pet a dog, I mentally know that I HAVE to wash my hands before touching my face or things will get ugly. I've been like this for years and years, and for the most part, it works out for me pretty well.

There are a couple of other situations where that "Your hands are dirty - wash them ASAP!" red light goes on in my brain, including: On the subway after touching those poles people hang on to and.... after playing poker.

Now for the (really) weird part... I've noticed myself having the same feeling about my hands being contaminated many times after playing ONLINE poker. Stupid brain.
