Plans for 2007 WSOP...
 

I've finally started making my WSOP arrangements. I'm still completely undecided about the Main Event - I haven't even played in a single sattelite for it yet, but I may (either online or live in Vegas - TBD). What I am positive about though is that I'm going out for some of the preliminary events. When I cashed in that event last year, I decided right then that I was going to take $5k or so of those winnings and put them torawds some of the preliminary events this year. So that is exactly what I'm doing.

Here is my plan:

I'm flying to Vegas on Thursday, May 31st. I'm flying home on Sunday June 10th (red eye that night). The latter is subject to change... If I score 6 figures or if I'm still alive in Event #15, for example, I'll likely extend my stay and play in some more events. Otherwise, 10 days in Vegas is good for me, so I'll head home.

Here is the .

I'm looking at playing in the following events while I'm there:
6/2 - Event #3 - $1500 NLHE
6/3 - Event #4 - $1500 PLHE
6/7 - Event #12 - $1500 NLHE 6 handed
6/9 - Event #15 - $1500 NLHE

I'm playing in the two bold ones for sure. If and only if I get knocked out of Event #3 early on Day 1, I might play in Event #4, but that's a big maybe. I might just skip it and donk around in the cash games or whatever instead.

I will probably play in Event #15, unless:
-I'm sick of poker by then and don't feel like it (especially if I played in Event #4).
-I'm at the Final Table of Event #12. FWIW, this is my preferred reason for not playing in Event #15. :thumbsup:

So that's my plan.

Are any of you planning on heading out there during this time frame? If so, speak up - drinks are on me. That goes for you too, shabi. I'm looking forward to finally metting your sorry ass.

5% swap for event #3? Ill be down there either thursday or friday till sunday, and obv later if I make it deep.

they changed the schedule and it dosent exist anymore, it was a 1k buy in that ran during main event but now no events run during the Main event.

They add them. They arent bracelet events though.

they were last year and year before, tp said that he was playing for braclet because that questions was brought up in his thread. I actully think it was on schedule also.


think they did away with the 3-4 events during ME and added new ones.

Yeah, I'm not sure what they are gonna do for those this year. I suspect they will add them, based on demand, but they will be non bracelet events. IMO, that's how it should be. The Main Event should be just that - the last chance to win a bracelet for the year.

The last two years, they were indeed bracelet events. In 2004, they weren't.

if i qualify, im there. If not, i may still go but im unsure.

Mark I'll be up prob june 1st and too will be playing in #3 and probably #12 as well.Mabey more we'll see but for sure #3. Cant wait to get up there.I'll probably have a room at the rio , not my fav but great for breaks to be able to go and chill if needed.Should be fun!!!

I know they updated Main Event chip counts regularly last year. I followed it closely and got to watch a big part of pay perview. Do they post chip counts for the other multiday events online? If so, it would be great to track TP and the others who will be competing.

They should, yes. I was also sending out cell phone updates last year, which were then posted here.

Yeah...can't see that happening this year with the new TD rules that they just put in place.

I'm looking forward to meeting a lot of board members at this year's WSOP. I'm not sure if I'll try to play some live sattys into events or not. I'll definitely be up for railbirding, cash games, and late night debauchery.

One of the rules that the Tournament Directors organization thingy implemented this year was a hard and fast rule of NO cell phones/crackberrys/PDAs in use at the table. So if updates are going to be sent the person would need to actually leave the playing area to do it.

Well yeah, I wouldn't be sending updates during playtime anyway. Id only do it during dinner break and whatever.

ya break is every like 2hrs so its not that big of a deal, for that 2hrs ur prolly gonna have like 3 or 4 hands that are worth discussing anyway
