After a Bad Beat

Do you guys ever have the mentality of getting that guy back? I seem to always get that itchy finger to call or try to make a play against them...but usually I let my brain do the talking and avoid those doing anything too stupid.

This one guy just caught runner runner on me. Had JJ vs his A10, flops AJQ. End up all in after the flop, and of course he winds up runner runner A 10. ><

but

dont you find by trying to get him back you chase stuff pointlessly and end up paying him more money then if you would of just chilled out and said "oh well"?

Try not to ...

I'm definitely aware of who has sucked out on me, more so to be aware that they chase than for revenge. It's hard not to want to gets your chips back, but you have to play each hand based on it's own merits rather than get into a grudge match that is -EV.

Whoever said they never win with JJ is right. Second time I hit a set of Jacks and this time lost to a straight from someone with 57....I don't know how to play them...haha ><

Hey,

In NL I only try to get them by playing good hands and hope to have position on them.

In limit I get sucked out so frequently that it doesn't matter :).

Cheers,

Gutzz

I usually don't go for the guy, but sometimes I mouth off at him in the chat when my next hands a good hand, and raise or something. People at microlimits seem to vey responsive to verbal tells

tough beat, try not to focus on how he beat you, but how much of a chance he had to begin with. He had 4 outs to his gutshot straight draw which is around 15% to hit.

just make sure that you dont start chasing him when you dont have the goods. its tough when someone gives you a bad beat, but you just have to shake it off.

of course it feels good to take that person down later, but it cant help your game if you try to get back at them for the rest of the session.
