Why I love YouTube ...

I'm not even a Mets fan, but this might be the funniest thing I've ever seen on this site:

That has got to be one of the funniest things I've ever seen. + rep. for you. :D

lol great stuff...

I love how Kevin Mitchell and Mookie Wilson are both white lol. The error at the end was classic, I was wondering how they were going to do that.

Last night, I was hanging out with one of my best buds -- a huge Mets fan. Needless to say, after the Mets lost (or, in JD's case, the Cardinals won), he immediately popped in the tape of 1986 Game 6, bottom 10 (I'm assuming it was to pump him up for tonight's Game 6). We watched and laughed hysterically at several things, including:

1. The announcement of "Marty Barrett" as the Player of the Game"
2. Someone dropping streamers or toilet paper on the backstop during Ray Knight's at-bat ( think it was Knight .. could be wrong).
3. "Ah, the Oil Can. Well, for the time being, it looks like he'll have tomorrow off." - Vin Scully

There's also a lot to be said for Buckner's true culpability in that inning, and the simple fact that he may be the most unfair goat in the history of baseball. I challenge anyone who hasn't listened to the YouTube thingy to tell me the names of the two pitchers Boston used in that inning, as well as the one who uncorked the wild pitch that allowed the tying run to score.

Bob Stanley threw the wild pitch. Calvin Schowtwhjtewoet something or other was the first pitcher of the inning.

I was the first person in my family not born in New England...that's like the worst night of my mom's, uncle's, aunt's, grandparents' lives. (I'm required to know all about who to hate and why)

But, you are right...sure, Buckner made an error that cost them the last run. However, he didn't give up three consecutive hits with two outs. And, he most assuredly, did not blow game 7.

"Have I told you lately, you all suck"

Buckners error just put the end to a Boston Meltdown, he wasnt the main reason why they lose.

Great YouTube clip.

I too just watched Game 6 from 1986 on ESPN Classic last week. I noticed the Player of the game reference too and got a kick out of it. I remember watching the game in 86 with my old man, and its funny I have seen the tenth so many times over the years that I remembered nearly every pitch. Great game!
