Business trip degenerates to gambling

I just found a casino in Buffalo, NY i didn't know was here. Looks like a late night for me fellas. Wish me luck. Report to follow.

BTW, we should compile all trip reports to poker rooms, maybe even create a section for this. I feel like trip reports are so much more valuable than searching for reviews on the internet. This community has covered a decent amount of poker rooms and a section just for reviews would encourage more visits to rooms no one has been too. Just an idea...

lightfungus 03-27-08 09:22 PM

I thought you could use degenerate as a verb, apparently I'm a moron...my B.

Dodoubled 03-28-08 07:00 AM

You can pretty much use anything you want to as a verb. If it sounds good to you, then fuck 'em all, right?

Reel Deal 03-28-08 08:47 AM

I think that's a good idea fung... I could do one for the Harras in New Orleans and our little dog track room here in Jacksonville.

lightfungus 03-28-08 08:04 PM

Yeah...it would imagine it would generate lots of hits from teh intranets too.

Unfortunately, I decided it would take me 20 min to get there and it was already 9:30...and I had to get up...so I old man'd it...anyway, TP lets get this collection of trip reports going!

I will contribute nothing.

As usual.

What's with the retarded new avatar?

As for fungus' idea, it's not a bad one, but I don't think we could muster up more than a dozen reviews, and I don't like the idea of making an entire section for 12 threads.

Prove me wrong and I'll do it.

lightfungus 03-29-08 12:46 AM

Whatever, no need for a section, at least a sticky with links? I'm passing out now, but I will dig everything up this weekend sometime.

Reel Deal 03-29-08 09:49 AM

Why does it have to be done in threads? Couldn't you have a web page with our collective reviews that you link from the home page of TP.com?

Talking Poker 03-29-08 10:50 AM

Certainly.

Dig dig dig. Review review review.

So far I have found:

Vegas:

AC:

Strathoy, UK??? (Nikita and Rob can you clarify the name of this room?)

London (who knows what caisno this is)

Where is this one?

New Orleans (Harrah's)

Phoenix, AZ

Biloxi, MS

Baghdad

Foxwoods (Ledyard, CT)

Tampa:

Boston Area

Cruises

So far this is everything I have found. I know I am missing some, so if someone remembers one that I missed definitely add it. Also, we should get a format down for this as there is always information that people like to know about casinos before they go...

1. Games spread
2. rake
3. dealer personalities
4. player makeup
5. food
6. room atmosphere
7. general service
8. accomodations (hotel etc)
9. transportation to and from

We have an ok start but we are missing lots of stuff!

Also, I started a map that we can pinpoint where all of our reviews are...I picked the places I have been but got tired, so maybe you guys can add the vegas ones or something.

lightfungus 03-30-08 03:57 PM

If you have a casino that you have been too but haven't ever shared your experience, please do! It would be awesome if you are in an unknown area of the country and you can come here to review a B&M casino.

Talking Poker 03-30-08 07:07 PM

Please do so in a new thread, of course.

Nice work, fungus. I'm not going to rewrite/format/etc all the reviews, but I can certainly set something up that links to each of thie respective threads. If you think they should be cleaned up into the relevant text only: Gogogogo!

It's actually in Ontario. And it wasn't a poker room. Not sure what it could be classified as. It was a tourney set up to earn some money for a local baseball team or something.
