I put $500 into bodog today to bet sports with kinda just for fun cuz alot of my friends are getting into it but they are making like $5 bets. Hopefully I'll make some $ doing it if you guys have any games that stand out anytime plz let me know and if we win consitently enough ill send a small portion of the profit if ur offering good enough advice.

I'm betting $50 on Mizzou +18 tonight vs KU so far but I'll prob find a few more games to bet too.

are u only betting on College Football?

If all you are doing it only for sports betting, there are probably better books than bodog if you plan on taking it seriously.

These are the words of someone NOT taking it seriously. As are the ones asking for tips on a poker forum (kinda like when I ask for stock tips).

Don't get me wrong, I love betting sports for fun too, but being serious about it is a whole other ball game.

I guarantee Mizzou - the college that JD just so happens to go to - isn't the best bet available in all of sports right now. But it's definitely going to be the most fun bet for him.

not when KU takes out anger over their loss last week in manhatten

oh its basketball.

Bodog usually has some of the worst lines. Of course, if you really want to take it seriously, the best is to search around different books looking for the best line. Doubtful you will take it that seriously though.

is solid.
is good too.

and if you are outside of the US, pretty much always has the best lines.

Sportsbooks are a fluctuating business though so reading up them occassionally is a good idea. (sportsbook review) is a trusty source.

if you're anywhere other than Betfair you're getting rolled.

betting sports can be pretty lucrative. i know of a few big sports bettors in aus.

i won about 6-7k from sports last year (would've been about 10k if i didn't bet 1k for shits n giggles for each of the Mavs' first round games in the playoffs against the Warriors).

the easiest way to win money is to lay the team that has the most support from the punters. this usually entails betting against England in any sports match. for example, in a cricket match between England and a small-market team such as Sri Lanka, the line is often incorrect by 10-30% in my opinion.

there are some truly ridiculous lines out there if you look hard enough.

LOL... on a number of levels.

jillaj 02-05-08 10:12 AM

And of course KU wins by 19.

Mizzou not hitting free throws screwed you.
