Rampage says he's done. :(

Sadface.

The guy is a moron. Watching him on TUF just reinforces that.

claudioxcore 09-24-09 01:16 PM

He's still an entertaining fighter. none the less.

I hate when people criticize a fighter. Yes, he may not be the most strategically inclined coach to grace the TUF screen but he's a an A class fighter and for that you should always respect a him.

As for this news, I feel he'll be back. He's a very emotional man and when he calms down he will realize that he has some more fights in the tank and come back. I know it's a matter of respect but will any film want this guy if he's not getting air time with the UFC? Don't think so.

First i don't give a rats ass what you hate or like. Second he isn't fighting on this show, he is "coaching".

What are the odds that Kimbo can beat this big cracker next week? I wouldn't think they would fight him this early if he wasn't going to win.

Zybomb 09-24-09 09:52 PM

There's always the possibility that they are doing the show "real" and not just for ratings.

I thought Kimbo would be the last one to fight, and it would be against one of the inexperienced Ex NFL guys... but he's fighting third and against one of the most accomplished fighters on the show. Although he looks like a fat slob, Nelson is definitely in the top 3 as far as favorites to win the show go... so i mean maybe it is really how it panned out and they weren't instructed not to go after Kimbo till late or whatever.

and yea Rampage is one of the worst coaches ever. This is evidence by his lack of instruction during fights ("get up" "knock his ass out" etc while other coaches are giving specific insturctions and gameplans), and his poor match selecting.

and (last point) the fight last night was beyond pathetic. How someone can train for a career in the UFC get an opportunity to make it and then be beyond gassed after TWO MINUTES of the first round is beyond me. the 2nd round was the biggest joke I've ever seen literally with Shivers hunched over with his hands on his legs and McSweeny too tired to take advantage. They literally both stood back and "took a break" multiple times for extended periods and I think if McSweeny didnt eventually after 10 seconds of nothing come forward, Shivers wouldve sat there the rest of the round resting

jillaj 09-24-09 10:13 PM

Yeah as soon as I saw they were going to announce the fight this week I knew it would be Kimbo.

Your right the fight was garbage. I can understand Shivers getting that gassed at some point. I mean guys that big burn too much energy to fight that long for the most part. McSweeney is the guy who I was most unimpressed with. He can kick hard but that seems to be it.

I grew up with Matt Mitrione so i am eager to watch him fight. He was one tough sob back in the day.

I agree big men usually have stamina issues, as do excessively muscular guys (all those muscles need oxygen), but I mean, if you're even semi serious about giving MMA a run, you should be in shape to not gas out after only 2 minutes of only semi intense action (unless its nerves or something that made u gas and thats not the norm) ... but during sparring and training you should have seen the stamina levels

I have watched every UFC PPV and most ultimate fight nights, but have only watched one season of Ultimate Fighter. That show is garbage for watching MMA and more of a reality show than showcasing anything other than scrubs fighting it out. Go watch DREAM or sengoku or WEC or Bellator way before ultimate fighter if you are looking for competent people facing each other.
