what do you mean bad beat, when the money went in, he was clearly ahead

But on a serious note, it always sucks when someone cracks a monster with garbage like that. Although, I don't know if I completely fault his play, he calls that bet and he knows he can take your stack if he hits. In my opinion you clearly defined your hand with the reraise and (while I wouldn't be caught dead with this hand) a decent small suited or one gapper could easily kill a monster.

All in all horrid beat, but as they say shit happens.

Edit: not easily kill, but the implied odds are pretty good

I for one appreciate implied odds more than most... however in this case they arent here.

I did clearly define my hand by reraising, but Im not going to just call in that spot! As far as him he has horrible implied odds. He has a suited 3 gapper and called 25% of his stack. Assuming he doubles each time he hits (not unreasonable) that means hed win roughly $100 1 in every 8 times and lose $25 (assuming he called the original raise for some reason) 7 times for a net EV of -$75.

Eh what am I saying... he called a raise from the SB with 73s.... then he called a reraise HU with it!!! lol

Again, this guy was a horrible player, as easily witnessed by the fact that he was sitting with less then the full buy in.

But with slightly better cards and a full buy (or preferably DS) in I don't completely disagree with a call.

In this situation, it was a horrid beat(well, the majority of the money went in while he was a favorite, but that aside) and horrid play by his part to call the inital raise or the reraise.

I was just playing the ol devil's advocate since I haven't had too much of a chance to post lately.

By the way, isn't he looking at winning $147 when he calls the 25? His entire stack plus what was already in the pot?
