Jean-Robert Bellande

:confused:Well, this *is* about a poker player who has been on TV playing poker, and he'll be on TV again, though not playing poker, so I guess it goes here.

I report this as I read it, no judgment as to the truth of it but here goes...

Apparently, Jean-Robert will be on the next season of Survivor

That doesn't surprise me... AT ALL.

I've been expecting a poker pseudo-celebrity to land a spot on Survivor one of these days, and JRB is a perfect fit.

I heard Phil Hellmuth is going to be on the next Surreal Life.

Confirmed

JRB confirmed yesterday on 2p2 (after CBS publicly announced the cast) that he is indeed one of the castaways. Show begins Sept. 20.

Odds that he will say "Good Laydown" in the show, I'll bet 3 to 1 that he does.

Week 1

Not for nothin' (as we say in Rhode Island), but it sure didn't look like JRB did much to get into shape before going to China.:donkey

Negative: LOL at JRB's "pretend to be a lazy douchebag for deception" strategy. :donkey :talktothehand

Positive: In 2 weeks, he has been a very strong player (on a very strong tribe) in the challenges.

I'm still 50-50 on whether or not he makes it past the halfway point, but he'll last a while as long as the other tribe is so weak and dysfunctional.

Wow

He friggin' speaks Mandarin. Who knew?

The Chinese fisherman & family shows up and he just starts talking to them in their language!

Plus, the use of the trained diving birds to fish was cool.

Bye-bye, Bobbie

JRB has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that being a lazy, self-absorbed "bad boy" is not a winning strategy in Survivor.

At last night's tribal council, Probst asked him if he thought the former members of the other tribe were nervous after the merge and he said something like. "They have to feel like they're playing the seven deuce offsuit..." Then he gets voted out.

Misplayed his hand on every street. :D
