60k in 100 days...

This is where I'm going to keep track of my new goal since i got some PM's to just do it on here rather than a blog, and actually I like this idea more too.

My Bankroll right now is almost exactly 100k.
I am kind of sick of playing right now and when i come back I want to really have a desire to play, so I am going to take a short break.
When I come back I plan to start reading alot of books I haven't finished and start trying to really improve my game. (the last couple months I feel like i've barely improved at all, more like just grinding at a level i can beat.)

To meet this goal I will play tournies and cash games.
I can't realistically expect any kind of return from tournies b/c I will play so few it won't be a big enough sample size. Hopefully I can make a big cash or two tho to boost the BR, but im not counting on anything.

Unless something unexpected happens, most the money will come from cash games. I plan on playing 3/6NL to 10/20NL with 5/10NL being the focus.

I know this is a very results oriented goal but honestly im not going to feel like a failure if i make 50k in 100 days instead of 60k, so I don't really mind. It's more like a goal to motivate me to play well, read, and really try to get a good amount of hands in.

Whatta goal...I mean my kid cousin could make that much selling cookies, on the weekend.

GL sir.

hiimbob12 09-04-06 07:46 PM

Yeah, if those cookies were filled with uranium. Good goal JD, it should be fun for you, and us to read.

kkirk1329 09-04-06 07:48 PM

gl, hope your able to accomplish your goal.

Govman6767 09-05-06 10:02 AM

As opposed to playing twister or chute's and ladders for money ?????
must be the sand and heat getting to me :) :) :)
I could not help it this just really stood out :)

GeoffM 09-05-06 10:58 AM

 Heck, if I only made 50K in 100 days, I know I'd feel like a failure :D .

Ok, so I couldn't resist either :p.

A funny one for ya

Since I can't do this it will be funny to see if you can.
I purpose 10k's of that be done the first ten days you start.
that gives you no time and no room to breath just put the hammer down and get on it. What do you say! you upfor that always fun to see if you can push.

eejit101 09-05-06 11:22 AM

i vote this the worst idea ever.

BrianSwa 09-05-06 11:33 AM

wow

I really hope you were kidding because that is about the worst Idea I have ever heard. I personally dont like these goal threads for JD becuase I dont want to see him get all pissed if he dosent make the goal. Just seem too much pressure on results and not enough on just playing good poker and makeing correct decisions.

JDMcNugent7 09-05-06 04:03 PM

exactly.

Boobie Lover 09-05-06 05:58 PM

As JD seems to have become greedy, I'll take over his role for the 60K in 100 days. +4K this month.

JDMcNugent7 09-05-06 07:48 PM

awesome.

JDMcNugent7 09-05-06 11:08 PM

boobie i played u today.

Boobie Lover 09-05-06 11:14 PM

Hmmm, are you loltrickedu?

JDMcNugent7 09-05-06 11:48 PM

no. any other guesses?
we were in a pretty big pot.

Boobie Lover 09-05-06 11:55 PM

I don't remember shit after I play. I don't have any other ideas.

Talking Poker 09-06-06 12:20 AM

How long did you play for? I'm surprised you didn't say hi.

Post the big pot hand and blank out both of your names (and your hole cards, obviously). Then we can all objectively say how we think you each played it.

Boobie Lover 09-06-06 12:29 AM

My name is obvious on Bodog. Here's the hand (I think it is anyway). 600 NL 6max

Folded to JD on button who raises to $21. SB folds. I see A9 and decide to repop him to $60 as he has been playing a little laggy so far. The reraise was definately too small in retrospect and I definately need to stop using the bet pot button when reraising since it doesn't actually seem to work. JD calls.

Flop comes Qxx. I bet 2/3 pot. JD calls. As I don't really know too much about him, I decide that I'm giving up in this pot.

Turn T. I check, JD checks.

River is a blank. I check, JD checks. JD wins with Q9o.

JDMcNugent7 09-06-06 01:57 AM

im talkin about AQ vs 44. but thats one too. good memory.

Boobie Lover 09-06-06 02:08 AM

Ah yes, now I remember.

600 NL 6max

Again, didn't know it was JD at the time that it occurred, but I knew he was playing laggy (for Bodog standards).

Me with $400, JD covers. I lost some semi big pot a couple of hands ago and haven't reloaded yet. I open to $21 with AQo UTG. JD is the only caller in the SB.

Flop comes Q54 with two diamonds. JD checks, I bet around $35. JD calls.

Turn is another 4. JD checks, I bet $75 into a $120 pot feigning weakness against an aggressive opponent. JD minreraises. Well, I got what I wanted showing weakness. I push. JD has 44. I guess I'll reload for the max now.

JDMcNugent7 09-06-06 02:27 AM

for what its worth u were def. the other most aggro/ best player at the table.
i know u know this tho.

i jump to 3/6 every now and then when theres not enough short handed 1k games.
sry i didnt say hi, i didnt plan on staying long and was doing alot, and i def. didnt plan on gettin in a big pot with u. and i def. didnt want to just say hi right after taking down a pot.

eejit101 09-06-06 10:08 AM

So you sending Boobie $400 on stars?:D

Boobie Lover 09-07-06 04:10 AM

Obligatory update

+$7,813 this month

Long term goal: Stop being a mangina and play 5/10 NL.

Tony Cheval 09-07-06 02:37 PM

...if I could make 7k in a month, I would proudly wear the label 'mangina'. :o
