Now THAT was some annoying poker to watch. heh.

blahdy 02-21-07 01:30 PM

Youre little bit delayed, right? Or, better, retarded?

Talking Poker 02-21-07 01:33 PM

Huh? I'm retarded for not watching Casino Royale until today? Or am I retarded for thinking the poker in that movie was annoying? Did you love it or something?

I read comments like this and can't help but wonder why no one backs you. Go figure.

blahdy 02-21-07 01:43 PM

lol :D why do you talk about backing in this thread...it has nothing to do with it - btw I finished second in Mansion 100K Guaranted, so backing is out of date :D

Sorry for my words, and give me your stars username, so I can transfer you some present for your good work on this forum :-)

My Stars name is Rogue23.

I'll believe it when I see it (No offence intended).

Congrats on the Mansion finish. TPers own that tourney.

I watched the film on a DVD of questionable legality.

The poker was the funnyest thing ive seen to do with poker possibly ever. What was the last hand?

Nut flush vs 2nd nut boat, vs nut boat, vs straight flush?? After the last hand shown was quads vs boat.

I liked the film, i love where they have gone, and the poker part of it was enjoyable and different, but it was stupid.

Robbr25 02-21-07 06:53 PM

Yes I had some issues with the Poker play as well.
Especially since they had a real pro at the table who could have advised them on how to do it.

Talking Poker 02-21-07 08:21 PM

Who was that? I didn't notice.

And while I thought it was a little silly, it's not like they could have had as exciting of a hand with trips over two pair or something.

The hand were the bad guy was bluffing the whole way with his 22 on a 9hxhxh92 board was the part I thought was most annoying.

The Asian is Minh (sp?) Lee(not real sure about the last name)
He was on High Stakes Poker.
Jen Harmin was talking a lot to him.
Daniel N was making fun/imitating him.

Talking Poker 02-21-07 11:12 PM

Oh, I know him... not sure why I didn't notice him. Probably because I was working and only partially paying attention to the movie. I don't see him in the credits though:

I haven't seen Casino Royale, yet (want to ... heard great things). But I know they pulled something similar in "Maverick" (another entertaining foray). I think the last hand was four-of-a-kind vs. straight flush vs. royal, and Mel Gibson said something like, "I can't believe I pulled that ace!"

Anyhow, far and away the best Bond flick of all time is "Goldfinger." There aren't any that are even close, IMHO.
