Ivey

"Keaton always said, 'I don't believe in God, but I'm afraid of him.' Well I believe in God, and the only thing that scares me is ... Phil Ivey."

Step 1: Make massive multi-million dollar prop bets you will win a bracelet

Step 2: Win one, then, for good measure, win another

Step 3: Strike fear into the rest of the field of the Main Event by storming into the second place with nearly 15m chips and counting.

Unbelievable run.

i heard he's got 20k at 100-1 that he wins main event.

Talking Poker 07-15-09 02:36 AM

That's only a $2 million payday. That's nothing compared to what he made on that first bracelet.

Seriously, the guy is the sickest poker player ever.

I hear that he was scheduled to be at a featured table a few days ago and threw a fit about it (not sure why), so they actually traded out the table for another one. Everyone at his table was pissed, since that cost them $5k each of endorsement crap, etc.... so he of course gave them each $5k and told them he would give them each another $50k if he won the Main Event.

Or so I heard. Would love confirmation on that one.

ESPN execs dancing in the streets of Bristol.

I wonder who they are going to talk a lot about over the next few months.

What's the over/under on a "He's the Tiger Woods of Poker" storyline?

Who is Darvin Moon and is he bad enough to lose $60m chips?

Reel Deal 07-16-09 01:56 PM

JDMcNugent7 07-16-09 02:42 PM

he is on such a sick run, i def want him to win it

2Tone 07-16-09 03:52 PM

No kidding

For a good chunk of last night, he was in 10th place. I can imagine if it ended up that way, Harrah's/ESPN deciding that come November, a 10-handed final table would just the kind of innovation the WSOP needs.

claudioxcore 07-16-09 04:06 PM

Lol.

Talking Poker 07-16-09 08:56 PM

I suspect Full Tilt Execs are probably pretty happy too. Think they will give him the $10 million bonus if he wins it? ha....

Great question! I'm sure he's got a nice clause in that contract about getting to the final table. This is definitely good for poker and certainly great for FTP.
