Listen to what happened on Pac Poker

Was playing my normal 2/4 game on pac this morning and this happened.

Some dude was in a pot and drew to a flush. The pot got to $40 after the bets on the river and my man with the flush showed the winner.

Well, when the pot was moved over to him they threw an extra 0 on the end of it and credited him with a $400 win!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

How about that bonus?

Anyone else see anything crazy on the internet sites like this. This has got to be one of a kind, but it did happen. We all saw it and couldn't believe it.

See now, dammit, I really wanted to try that place out and I hate to hear stuff like that, this kind of software glitch makes me really afraid of a place, that kind of thing just can't be allowed to happen even once. YIKES. Any idea if he got to keep the money or if they tracked it down?

eddo31 11-04-04 01:45 PM

was it a software glitch, or was it a promotion that they were running? to be honest i would guess that it is a promotion they were running, where it is not dependent upon the strengthof the hand, but rather on what number hand it was that was dealt. same thing as the stars or party promotions that they had recently.

WOW, he should be withdrawing that money immediately. Get it off the site before they find out, because once he takes it out, they likely won't find out he has it or won't be able to get it off of him.

I would pull my money from a site like this. Glitches, good or bad, may one day come back to haunt you.

If you find out that to be the case please let us know, very interested.

GeoffM 11-04-04 02:53 PM

Well, like I said, you guys are interested until such time that it glitches in the bank's favour, and your account becomes depleted. Then you'll have to hope they have good customer service.

Penguinfan 11-04-04 03:30 PM

I am only interested in finding our if it was a promotion for a certain hand number or something like that, I want no part of a site that has errors for or against me, keep it on the up and up and I'll be fine.

GeoffM 11-04-04 03:35 PM

I see what you're saying.

I don't see this being any type of promotion unless of course the site says they have such and such promotion. After all, a promotion is suppose to be something that appeals to players, not something secret.

Maybe they have a 10X pot bonus or something on certain hands?

I now have more posts than TP himself. My job is good :D.

I need something like that :D to happen to me

PShabi 11-05-04 12:06 PM

There was no announcement, no balloons and streamers, no explanation. Had to be a glitch. At least it didn't cost anybody any money from the table, so I won't be reporting it or anything.

PShabi 11-05-04 12:09 PM

Any glitch I've reported has been taken care of very professionally. I got folded out with QQ in a Tourney with an "illegal bet" message when I raised all in. Got refunded at least.

Another thing that has happened is this:

Guy in small blind doesn't call, but let's it tick down and time him out. Cards don't get folded and he still gets to play on the flop. I've seen that one a couple times (in a crap ton of hands) and it even happened to me once.

I understand about glitches and how, no matter what, they can't be good;however, I can't leave because I make too much money there.

PS.

Don't know what he did but we all advised him to withdraw that cash immediately and he said he was going to.

hackers238 11-05-04 12:17 PM

wow. Thats all I can say. I would not play at that site if my life depended on it. I have been playing at quite a number of sites for quite sometime now, and never even come across one glitch as serious as those you mention.

I would get out of that site now, regardless of how much I'm making. For the same small blind glitch to happen more than once is horrible, IMO.

Not that it couldn’t happen

I’m not doubting the story, but man, that sounds odd. This one hand happened to pay off 10 times what it should? What kind of weird glitch would cause that? And you have to think that even at the sketchiest of sites, they are keeping a daily/hourly tally of the take, and if $360 "goes missing," that’s going to trigger reviews of hand histories, etc.

What did the guy do? Stay at the table, or leave immediately?
