I set up a free fantasy football league on Yahoo! Fantasy games. See details below. If you are interested, send me an email (), and I will send you a league invite or the league password. There are only 9 spots open. Since this is free, there isn't live updating. I would have loved for a bunch of us to have pitched in, and set up a CBS Sportsline account, but we didn't!

I would play but the draft time is horrible... I will be at work during the draft.

It's the best I could to. For some reason, Yahoo didn't let me have a late afternoon or night-time draft time.

Yes. I hope people join and take advantage of it... Most of us are at a disadvantage by not being able to attend the live draft, but the league could be fun anyway...

So 8:45 EST, I may be able to draft a couple of rounds, but I've already started my pre-ranking anyways.

Lou, might I suggest you make the rosters 16 players, that way picking last isn't such a disadvantage.

Ok, so I did fantasy football on the NFL site the year before last and you coupld basically pick any players you want....

From what I have gathered so far...
1) we are choosing the players (any players in the NFL?) only ONCE withing the TP league ONLY, right? That is what the draft is about?
2) We each get one of each player position (picked in any order)....not sure of how many players we get overall....

Am I on the right track?

Questions:
1) How many players do we get overall?
2) What does head-to-head scoring mean?
3) do we repick each week, or we have to trade (within our league only) to change players with someone else?
4) which one of us gets to pick first, is that just a random thing?

There are different types of leagues. Some leagues are "Salary Cap Leagues," where each team manager has so much money to work with. Certain players are more expensive than others ... Marvin Harrison v. Freddie Mitchell for example, but your players also increase in value. So, if you picked Priest Holmes at the start of the season, and he's had 3 sick games with great stats, his price will increase. You keep him for the price you originally paid for him, and when you want to get rid of him, you made a profit.

That's not this. :)

Live Draft / Player Preferences
Here, there will be a live draft. When all teams are registered (I think there are 3 spots left?), Yahoo will give us a draft order. If you can't make the draft (like most people here), you can set up the preferences for whichever players you'd like to have first.

For example, I think Yahoo is putting Payton Manning as the default #1 pick. If you rather have someone else... LT or Priest Holmes, then you can change it.

Details
If you read my first post, I go into detail about how many players we each get, which spots you'll draft, how many, and a bunch of other info. So that you don't have to scroll up, we each draft 15 players. That means there will be 15 rounds in the draft. From there, you can choose players from the waivers. :)

Head-To-Head means just that... teams face-off against each other, each week, and whichever team has more points gets the win.

I am from the UK, so the only NFL games we get are on NASN. we get about 1 a week, so i dont know all the players. I have heard of manning, LT, TO, Vick and favre e.t.c, but i could use some serious info, or a URL to get it please dont joke around telling me to get some crap, i wanna be competitive! thanx

Here in the United States, guys are mostly interested in three things:

1. Women.
2. Beer.
3. ESPN.

Only the luckiest of us men get a mixture of all three. Check out for incredible sports coverage.

I think the NFL has online play-by-play (with graphics representing teams, who has the ball, ect) and scores, stats, highlights and plays described on the screen DURING the game.

At least they had it for free last year, good for keeping up with the game and stats at work.... :D

Team "Rogue" is in. Guess I'll have to tweak my rankings later tonight..... or maybe I'll actualyl attend and manually drafy my team. Then there will be no stopping me!

BTW Geoff.. you did your math wrong. 11:45 AM PT = 2:45 PM ET.
