How did you get that breakdown? Does the latest version of PokerEV include that?

I quit using it when every time I'd try to open it it would want me to download a new version and would take forever to run anyway.

Is it better now?

hackers238 07-28-08 02:59 AM

lol no, it still does the same bullshit. Thanks to that guy for making it, but seriously, does he have to make us redownload it?

The cooler breakdown is covered by setometer... forget the link right now but should be easily googleable. The only part I don't really agree with being a cooler is set vs. overpair, because you can get away from them... sometimes. Meaning people can get away from them, but I can't.

Blah I hate that I posted this, I know I have many leaks to fix. I just brokedown after 2 months of not looking at luck and playing breakeven poker. At least it's slightly heartening that I'm running badly!

I almost said this when I first saw this post but thought it sounded mean but you ended up saying it for me. I think these programs to see how unlucky you are are so stupid. People waste their time finding out just how horribly they run when that's the one thing they can't control, and who cares anyway cuz it'll even out in the long run. Instead people should be taking time wasted on this to try and improve their game.

Agree, was definitely in tilt mode.

I agree too, but I think being aware of how you are running is always a good idea.

1. Just because you are on a huge downswing doesn't mean you are playing badly. It certainly can (and often does), but not always.

And on the flip side:

2. Just because you are winning doesn't mean you are playing your best (or even well).

After each session or any time I am looking at recent results, really, I try to keep in mind how I was running compared to "average" and what I think my results would have been had I been running average.

I don't think there is anything wrong with this. In fact, I think it helps you stay realistic about your expectations when you are running well, and helps you keep your head up when you are running badly.
