Datamining Fulltilt

I have it from an unreliable source that datamining fulltiltpoker is automatic, meaning that the HH from any table you are observing are downloaded to your computer just like the HH from hands you are playing. Does anyone know if that it true?

I appreciate that I could download FTP and figure it out for myself, but I am reluctant to do anything with FTP on my new computer for other reasons, so if anyone can try this or has knowledge of this, please let me know.

Thanks.

Yes if you are watching a table you get the hand history.
The only thing you miss are the mucked hands.

BlibbityBlabbity 09-30-06 04:29 PM

auto import thehands and turn on the "import observed hands" checkboxand it should be good to go.

Interesting. I had no idea this would work and have actually been meaning to ask you guys about this.

I'm gonna give it a go right now. Results soon.

OK, I have six tables open and I see the HHs ARE being written (sort of) to my /HandHistory folder. They are not being written to /HandHistory/ScreenName, but to the level above that. They also are not the standard Tablename filenames, but instead are names like LHS15ED.tmp.

In Poker Tracker, I have the generic Auto Import (lightning bolt icon) running and it is NOT picking up these hands. This is the button I usually use, because no matter what site(s) I am playing it, it grabs everything.

I'm going to try using the Full Tilt icon now and see if that works....

BINGO! I can't believe I never bothered to figure this out before now. Stupid TP.

Hope that answers your question, Mel - I know it answered mine.

Now if you will excuse me, it's time for me to be a Full Tilt datamining fool.

P.S. I quickly found out that 16 is the maximum number of windows you can have open at one time.

Robbr25 09-30-06 04:45 PM

When I would play full tilt or have my computer on,
I would open the max number of windows at the limit I was playing at and just keep sucking in the hands.
(Even sucked in some high limit when Ivey/Dags/Mouth were playing)

While we're on the topic, I just figured out something else I never noticed before and always annoyed me.

In an ideal world, I could open a few tables and do some datamining, and then decide where to play based on what PAH tells me about my oponents. Well, for whatever reason, PAH would never "recognize" the tables I had open until I actually sat down and played a hand.

Well, DUH - that's because I told PAH that my HH file location was in /HandHistory/Username. I just added the root /HandHistory folder, and viola - it's working like a champ!

Again - Stupid TP for being too lazy to figure this out before. This should be a big help with table selection in the future.

Robbr25 09-30-06 04:58 PM

lol that is how I have all my HH in pokertracker set up

melioris 09-30-06 05:22 PM

thanks everyone checking into this for me. I have a new computer and am I am not going to install ftp for a week or two as I finish some other business (like opening up a new neteller account, ...) and I was curious.

I apologize in advance as I am sure in a week and I going to post something to the effect of "hey, does anyone know how to make PAH work on tables you are just observing" or some other stupid question.

No problem. Alternatively, you could bookmark this thread and just scroll up!

Getting PT stats on Ivey & Company would certainly be interesting. I'm sure you'd have to seperate the big money play from the promotional 'slumming' they may do though.

is very awesome (which now works with Full Tilt, Absolute, and Party) for table selection. The price is a little steep, but it is definately worth it.

Pretty hard to read those crappy resolution screen shots, but still cool. Based on the numbers, I can only assume they were playing 3-4 handed or so. Definitely not enough information to draw any conclusions about anything.

I've heard of this, but didn't realize it worked for Full Tilt. Is this what pshabi uses?

I see it has a 15 day free trial. I may give it whirl. Thanks.

PShabi 09-30-06 08:28 PM

I bought it. I got the year subscription with a discount for Beta Testers. Guess I overspent, especially if I keep playing at WPEX!!! :D

I couldn't imagine Party without it. However, does FT really have enough games going at once to make it worthwhile? I'm asking.

Boobie Lover 09-30-06 08:33 PM

Sixth Sense is such an awesome program because you aren't restricted to to one individual network. If there is five good tables at Party and two at Full Tilt, it will tell me about them both, and I can join them. There probably aren't enough individual tables at only Full Tilt if you want to play 4+ tables with very juicy games, but if you use it along with Party (and soon other networks will be added to Sixth Sense) it is very doable.

Sucks it won't be added to WPEX. The hand histories don't print player names, just player seats, so you don't really get stats on other players. That's one thing I don't love about them, but it makes me have to pay attention more, which may be a good thing.

Talking Poker 09-30-06 09:36 PM

Holy freaking hell. This is worthy of it's own new thread here.

In FIVE WEEKS, Patrick Antonius is up $1.6 million in that game??? I knew he was (really, really) good, but HOLY!!!

Robbr25 09-30-06 09:44 PM

Yeah I just did a quick and dirty screenshot.
They were 3-4 handed, you are right :)

BlibbityBlabbity 10-13-06 01:09 PM

does full tilt ever kick you off tables that you have open if you are not sitting and are not activly clicking on them?

Boobie Lover 10-13-06 01:14 PM

No.

Talking Poker 10-13-06 01:24 PM

I have 12-16 tables open pretty much every night while I sleep. I also datamine during the day sometimes (different players) and have never had a table closed on me - even if no one has been playing there for hours.
