Aba/sbrugby joins CardRunners.

...yet I'm still on the fence on getting a subscription. TP and others, please help convince me.

Boobie Lover 02-10-07 06:22 PM

I recommend them, and I do believe they are one of the main reasons why I have done so well over the past 6months.

I think after you watch a couple of their videos they are kind of repetitive, so I wouldn't recommend going for a long-term subscription.

Oh yeah, you also get to see Aba reload from his video and grace us with his 960k+ "My Bankroll" he has in Full Tilt.

Talking Poker 02-10-07 11:09 PM

Too funny.

I was just coming here to post this, as I think this is very exciting news for CardRunners. Don't get me wrong, Taylor is great, but I'm pretty excited to watch some sbrugby videos.

And yeah, that first reload (I just saw it 15 seconds ago) is pretty sick. He's just shy of $1 million. On Full Tilt.

The best part of this story is his . I'll add some bold for the tl;dr crowd:

I played with him on Full Tilt in the summer/fall... 2/4-5/10 range, as I recall. When I spotted him playing 200/400 a couple of months later, I thought I must have been remembering his name wrong.

That is just sick. Sick sick sick sick sick.

While I don't feel that I get as much out of it now as I did in the very beginning, I do credit CardRunners with a lot of my NL cash game success (as I told Andrew and Taylor in the Bahamas), and I'm happy to remain a member of their site both as a token of my thanks, and to hopefully continue learning. Lately, when I've been running bad and getting frustrated, I've been trying to quit playing (I still have trouble walking away from a "good game" when I'm losing and inevitably playing badly) and watch a video instead. The couple of times I've done it, it's helped me, and I've come back strong. Does it change my play? I don't know - probably not... but it's reassuring and helps with my confidence, which is very important.

Can anyone link me to the episode of him on HSP, it would be nice to put a face to the name :-)

Boobie Lover 02-10-07 11:52 PM

Next week's episode will be his first. Brian Townsend is his name.

Reel Deal 02-10-07 11:57 PM

He's playing 200/400 right now on Tilt... Gus Hansen is also at the table.

GeoffM 02-11-07 12:13 AM

Ah yes, nothing like turning on Tilt and seeing a $130K pot. I'm drunk right now too  :D

When are you Not?

I'm still in the process of watching srugby's first video. I'm about halfway through now.

I like how I just saw him bet $1000 when he meant to bet $100 (pot was like $120), and he didn't even notice.

I actually find it pretty reassuring that he has gotten his money all in three times now with the best hand - twice against short stacked idiots, and once with KK vs AQ - and has lost all three. The short stacks hit and ran too, of course.

He acts like it's nothing. I so want to be able to do that.

X-Longshot-X 02-11-07 05:10 PM

Is there anyway to see these videos without paying? for us poor people

Talking Poker 02-11-07 05:29 PM

No. But you can pay for one video at a time if you don't want to subscribe.

MAYHEM45 02-16-07 01:12 PM

Signed up a couple days ago. Def worth it.

Talking Poker 02-26-07 01:25 AM

In his second video - 2/4 NL - we see sbrugby's Full Tilt roll flash when he reloads.

$1.424 million.
