I was there last night and it was amazing.

Did you see this?
no sry. but i responded now. mayhem lies.
No one cares. And they'll lose. Bunch of hillbillies and corn fed fat chicks in that stadium every night. Wish it would get hit with a terrorist attack (when you're not there).
Yea don't count the Mets out yet -- I think they take game 7, especially if Perez is on
Perez when he is on is about as good a pitcher as I am playing birbie  , mind you, I do strike out my buddies.
Are you talking about the guy that was 10 games under .500 with a 6.55 era who allowed 5 in 5 2/3 the other day?
Because I'd really like to know what your idea of "is on" is... I'm inclined to go with the guy that allowed 3 hits in 8 shutout innings a few days ago and also beat Clemens in a Game 7 a few years ago... |
Cards v. Tigers in the Series... Tigers in 5. Print it.
A lot of guys I would like to have start a game 7 for me, Oliver Perez is not one of them.
A very good point was made about the game seven starting situation for the Mets. Traschel or Perez is not a huge difference. Either they are going to be on and pitch well or they aren't and they are going to pitch poorly. But Perez can give a great performance if he's on where Traschel can give a good one if he is.
Jeff Suppan is an average pitcher nothing more. Sure he pitched a gem in game 3, but in his game before remember he went only 4 innings before being yanked. Would I take him over Perez? Obviously, but keep in mind the Mets pitch to get into the bullpen. PErez numbers weren't great in game 4 but he did his job. He kept the game close and pitched long enough to give the bullpen a break, and let Brandford and Feliciano each pitch an inning and then be in the 9th.
The Mets are home and have a better offensive team. I just checked the line and the Mets are -121 currently, and Im not surprised. |
idiot.:)
Ahem.....
LETS GO METS. LETS GO METS. |
As a final noteworthy statistic before this game starts. The Mets have never lost an elimination game at Shea Stadium in the history of their franchise. I don't see the streak being broken tonight.
And remember it's not Perez vs Suppan, it's the entire Met Pitching staff (minus maine) vs the entire Cardinal pitching staff (minus Carpenter) Final line for the Mets is -125 (got a little more expensive) |
as a met hater I would like to see a tiger mets series:thumbsup:
This game tonight means nothing more than the right to get hammered by the Tigers.
Respect.
i hate every1 in this thread.
cards are good, but mets have more drive for this one mate.
Tigers Mets WS, Tigers win 4-2 |
HOLY SHIT what a play by Chavez.
Basically saved willie randolph the "Grady Little" treatment |
One of the best catches I've ever seen!
Mets will need 2 in the 9th to keep this going...
And the Mighty Beltran.....
...watches strike 3 hit the mitt. |
*sigh*
Perez did exactly what he needed to do. And GTdawg THATS what I meant when I said if Perez was on. Jeff Suppan deserves tremendous respect for the two games he pitched in this series. I believe he single handly won the game for the Cards As a last note, I looked over at my boy before the last pitch and said "whatever you do, don't strike out lookin" and sure enough, Mr Beltran does just that :( |
And that my friends, is what I live for. Fuck Beltran!
