Anyone tried PokerOffice

Hey gang,

I'm new to these tools so I was wondering if anyone has tried PokerOffice? It seems to have a lot of features and support for more sites than I can mention.

I thought I'd get some advice before investing...

Do some searching here on TP. I know this has been discussed before.

Personally, I've never tried Poker Office, but I've never had any need to. and the add ons that you can get for it will do everything you could possible want, and then some.

Trust me on this - If you're serious about your game, this is an investment you won't regret.

P.S. Welcome to the forum, and welcome to the League!

PokerTracker and PokerOffice Comparo

Here's a quick and dirty comparison I've put together for PokerTracker with PokerAce and PokerOffice. Is there anything I'm missing here? If there are other features that are needed or nice to have that I don't list let me know and I'll compare them.

If by "track hands live" you mean "in real time," then Poker Tracker does that as well. Well, unless every minute isn't considered "live" to you.

The HUD for PO does not show mucked cards at showdown, which PokerAce does.

I have not used Poker Office. I don't know anyone who does either. Ever serious player I know uses Poker Tracker.

Apparently, the big drawback to PO is that it doesn't support nearly the amount of sites that PT does.

What he said - Literally. I agree with all of it.

If you need help calculating pot odds (dividing the pot by the bet amount), counting outs, or knowing the hand rankings, you're not ready for either of these programs anyway. These are AWESOME tools, but if you don't have the basics of winning poker down yet, they will be way over your head. They can provide you with a wealth of information, but you need to know how to use it.

Give a trial run (it's free for the first 1000 hands). I think it's safe to say you'll be impressed.

I've also taken a look at the statistical analsyis provided by each program, but really - there are only so many ways to crunch the numbers... This seems like a heated debate on some forums (thank the Google) and it may boil down to 2 things
1) personal preference
2) does PO support where you want to play (PT supports several more sites)

I'm not sure why some poeple choose PT over PO or vise-versa. For me, I like the real-time odds calculator and I can datamine tables in real time that I'm not playing at (if you have a player at your table who is also on 4 other tables you can get the data from ALL of his hands presented to you, not just the ones you're involved in).

On the other hand more people seem to use PT. Not that I'm a fan of more popular=more better, far from it, but if you need help you have a bigger community to ask which could be an advantage.

Although, you need 2 programs to do what PO does with 1 and that can add a level of complexity...

Additionally.....

Poker Tracker does this too. It's not "real time," as it's "every 1 minute," but come on... how much can a guy's stats change in 15 seconds???

And as I said before, I think the odds calculator is a bit silly, but if that's something you really want, there are free ones out there that you can use in addition to Poker Tracker. Don't quote me on that, but I'm pretty sure there are. From the couple of those that I have looked at though, I've thought they were complete junk.

You've also made a very good point about more people being able to help you if you go with Poker Tracker. I know ZERO people who use Poker Office and {a lot} who use Poker Tracker.
