How close does this put the US to re-entering the market?

It's a step in the right. Really all this is, is the current DOJ recognizing the validity of prior court decisions. What this probably does is clear the way for any pending legislation - opposition can no longer try the tactic of citing The Wire Act. Somehow, though, the UIGEA needs to be amended or repealed.

I'd be interested in Reel Deal's opinion on this as well.

My thoughts are really just the same, it's a necessary step in clearing the path. Whether we'll get to the end of that path, who knows. There is an obvious push by certain states to find new and convenient revenue streams in this economy and it looks like that push is what brought the DOJ to this decision. The more the states push the envelope, and the more the B&M casinos push (and companies like Trump's) the better the chances that we'll have some form of legalized on-line poker within the next 12-24 months.

Surely, Celavey is a spam bot?

I was trying to figure out his "method," and here is my theory...

He ends every post with some vbulletin-looking image, but they are from an outside source, and not actually from this forum. I think the idea is for the posts to all look harmless, let some time pass, and then swap out the images on the back end to turn them into some sort of spam.

His sig isn't even a sig - it's text he has inserted into every post, manually...

At least that is my theory. I could be wrong, but I don't really care either, so just to be safe, I'm going to BAN him and delete all of his stupid posts. :)
