Wives, gotta love em since you can't kill em

Talking Poker 12-08-04 01:20 PM

This is hilarious!

Your wife is really good at following simple instructions, huh? LOL...

Penguinfan 12-08-04 01:30 PM

HAHA, she still has trouble with, "just lay there and don't ruin it for me" so I guess this was a bit much to ask.

Baseballa19 12-08-04 01:33 PM

I tried to teach my girlfriend to play Hold'em but we ended up in a fight. She couldn't understand that my pair of sixes were a better hand than her AKQ. You might guess that she's a gin rummy player.

PShabi 12-08-04 01:36 PM

oh shit! I was laughing my ass of at post #1 but I just pissed myself on this one.

Here's a solution next time. Throw the keys at wife. If she can drive stick. If not, you don't want that. Trust me. ;)

drewjax 12-08-04 03:56 PM

LMFAO!! freekin hilarious. I wouldnt trust my wife to finish a friendly game of UNO for me. Luckily she had no interest in poker. BUT she is the absolute biggest friggin MUSH in the world. without fail I wont see her for hours, and she'll come in the room just as I get AK cracked by AQ. absolutely unreal. of course she yells at me that I am stupid for even suggesting that such a thing is possible. Like last year when I was playing in a WSOP freeroll (and I cant remember the site, if anyone remembers which one had it please let me know). I specifically told her, dont come in the rooom, dont call me, dont ask me how I'm doing, simply leave me alone for like a few hours my dear!! Simple instructions, right Penguin. So 5000 in tourney, down to 51 players!! I get AK just as the love of my life decides 3 hours has been too long, so here she comes. "Hows it goin", first thing out of her mouth. I raise, get pushed allin, call, vs. AT!! (I think it was AT but whatever it was it was a big dog). Of course I get sucked out, and finish in 51st place (same as 5000th place). How the hell can you get more simple than, leave me alone until I come out of that room. It has happened so many times since then it is sick (of course not with those stakes). I feel your pain!!

TajaUk 12-08-04 06:10 PM

lol thats funny.

My wife has learnt not to bother yelling me if i am in a poker game. Unless its REALLLLLY REALLLY important.

Windbreaker 12-08-04 07:03 PM

I guess you learned your lesson...lol. Oh well, it probably would have been better to have sat out the rest of the way and get paid

junYUN 12-08-04 07:09 PM

i don't have a wife. now i know why.

jillaj 12-08-04 10:34 PM

Yeah thats the reason.

BrianSwa 12-09-04 12:05 AM

hey

I got a wife and since she lost 180 bucks in nickel slots last month 4 hours into our trip and after 9 hours I still had 80 bucks she wants to learn poker. So im working on teaching her the odds and what she needs to have to call that big bet so we shall see how she does next AC trip.

Tuff Luck 12-09-04 12:15 AM

Heh. I don't have a wife, but my mother says she wants to try out poker down the casinos sometime, but she just doesn't know enough about it. She plays the slots all the time, but hell, "blinds" confuse her.

I believe The great Norm Peterson From the Television Show "Cheers" said it best....

"Women....
Can't live with them....

.......
.....
Pass the beer nuts."

Am I the only one here that has a wife that plays.... and is good. I taught my wife how to play, and she took the lesson and ran with it. She has her own moves now and everything. We rule our home game. Either her or I win approximately 80% of the time (no we don't dump chips or play together). Most of my friends say that she is the hardest to read at the table. We've also played some big local tourneys, and she has fared pretty well (no money finishes for her though). I took her to the Harrahs in Gary, IN for the first time last weekend to play limit. Thats a whole other story. I love it though. I can have a poker party any time that I want. She likes to play more than I do at home because she doesn't like online. Sorry to go against the grain here and not bash my wife.

Oh, what the hell. She's a real bitch sometimes. There. I said it.

ChipFish 12-10-04 12:46 AM

OK, now you can be part of out little clique.

drewjax 12-10-04 03:09 AM

I have no interest in my wife becoming a poker player. NONE. I like to get away and play. Dont get me wrong I love my wife, as I'm sure most of you do, but sometimes I need a sabatical. Like a few hours a night, and every Sat. night!!!lol

BrianSwa 12-10-04 03:18 AM
