Tiger in US open
anybody watch his round today? completely sick back 9. He was hurting pretty bad with the bum leg too, do you think that will keep him from winning tomorrow?
um, no?
i dn he was def in noticable pain last few holes, if he wins that'd be so sick.
He's the Jordan of Golf. He'll grit it out and it definitely will be dramatic.
Word.
well, he didnt win nor lose. drained a awesome put on 18 to force a playoff tomorrow with rocco!
great moment that was
Go Rocco!!!!!
I was quite impressed that both announcers found the ability to be completely silent for a minute or two while Tiger prepared and finally putted.
That was an amazing week of golf. I can only hope that tomorrow neither one runs away with it and it is close until the last hole. |
Wtf 18 hole playoff? Why not sudden death?
The USGA has a boner for finding the most consistent and grinding player and hates the idea of one wrong bounce or one stupidly difficult lie killing someone's chances.
I think they should play a 3/4 hole playoff like the British Open or PGA championship, but...that's the USGA for you. |
So I have a distraction and don't have to work this afternoon, that's why. Duh.

Two Rocco stories...
He used to live here in PVB and would play all the time at the TPC (obv)... one time after a round I noticed that my sand wedge was missing, so I went back over to the club and down in the "cart barn" they had a rack with all the clubs that got turned in. Found mine and noticed a little tag on it that said "Found on 16th hold by Rocco Mediate." I still have the tag. The other story is that my wife called me one afternoon to tell me that she was with the kids at Sierra Grill (local Tex-Mex restaurant) and that our youngest wondered too close to an electrical outlet while she was ordering and that Rocco had scooped him up and delivered him back to her and said something like, "I think this is yours." Moral of the stories... Rocco is a good guy. I hope he wins this afternoon. |
Very cool.
I met him at the WSOP a few years ago and thought he was a very nice guy. Really down to earth and sporting a SWEET watch. I may even have a pic somewhere. |
Yeah, they've mentioned several times on the broadcast today that he's an avid poker player and that he's played in the World Series.
helluva playoff so far... tiger up by 1 12 holes in... should be a awesome last 6 holes.
all tied up
this is pretty amazing... rocco has had more than his chances to close tiger out.
all tied up after 18 with 3 more to play now... |
guess they dont play 3 more.... misunderstood the rules. guess 7, 8 and 18 are just the order of the holes in sudden death.
tiger takes it down! Rocco will be questioning himself on this one for along time... he had plenty of chances to win it, just couldnt close when it matter on 18... that was tigers hole this weekend for sure.
Gay ending.
Ending was lame, yes, but it was a great playoff. I don't watch much gold on tv, but I really enjoyed that.
I was really hoping Rocco would take it down though. So very close. If he sinks that last long putt after that mess of a hole, who knows what happens next........... |
just announced.... tiger woods is having season ending knee surgery...
WOW
He played through a ruptured ACL and suffered two small stress fractures a week before the Memorial tournament.
dude... It's posted on ESPN and there are a few quotes on Tiger Woods' website about some of the issues he faced over the past few months. *sigh* Talk about a lame rest of the year in PGA golf... --------------- To clear up confusion...he ruptured his ACL LAST FREAKING YEAR! And went on to win 5 of his next 6 tournaments, plus all the crap this year. |
