I second that, some of the things he says sounds like he is reading out of a poker book or something. " I had the best hand when the money went in the pot" after hitting runner runner to make flush. Only watched 1st hour of it, have to go pick up my car.

I thought he was annoying. That said, I realize that kind of table presence works well for some people.

I have to admit I'd chuckle when he's tell people "Nice laydown!" and point at them after they folded to a bluff...

From what I've read about him, he wasn't drumming it up for ESPN either. He plays like that all the time. I don't know, I just like what it does for him.

I also read some of his recent tournament finishes and they were pretty damn impressive.

This was a $10,000 buy in WSOP Circuit Event from earlier this year. This particular event was the one from the Rio:

What's the difference between the Circuit event and the Main event?

I'm not really sure how to answer that. It's kinda like asking what's the difference between the Party Poker Million and their weekly $350k guaranteed tourneys. All are big tourneys, but the Party Poker Million is the Party Poker Million.

The Main Event will be one of 45ish Events hald during the "2006 WSOP at Rio."

Cicuit events qualify players to the TOC....Main event final table does too...

How big is the TOC gonna be?

Are they entering ONLY circuit winners and the WSOP winner with no invites?


Or are they inviting "the best" again to go with the qualifiers?

Actually, there are two other lists like that one from two other circuit events(use pull down list). Maybe this is a much bigger field with 20-25 from each circuit event and then the finall table from the main event at WSOP?? Confusing site layout :confused:

I like this idea better than giving 10 of the best (who are already loaded) a 2 million dollar freeroll. This way it really is a Tournament of this years champions. If Hellmuth wants another shot, go finish well in an event at the WSOP, same as everyone else.... :p

I think I read - long ago - that 200 players will be invited to participate. I guess I need to get some more Player of the Year points, huh?

Did I tell you guys I have like three times as many POY points as Phil Hellmuth? I just love that :D

Now THAT is the type of stat I REALLY love to hear! :D
