33% RakeBack at Cake Poker...

Similar to the deal I set up with to offer you guys , I've worked out a deal with now too. 33% is the maximum amount of rakeback that Cake Poker will allow their affiliates to give their players, so that's what you get!

Unlike the Full Tilt deal where I have to do all the rakeback payments manually myself, at the end of the month Cake Poker will put your rakeback directly into your player account.

Here are the details, straight from Cake Poker's affiliate manager:

So there you have it. I haven't played on Cake Poker myself yet, but reputable sources are saying it's a good site with very bad players, so I'm looking forward to trying it out. I don't think it's supported yet, but hopefully it will be soon.

So, to start getting rakeback on Cake Poker, simple follow to their site and download their software. After that, everything else will be taken care of automatically. You shouldn't NEED to, but if you are asked for a bonus code, use TPF - this will ensure that you are eligible for the 100% deposit bonus up to $500.

kkirk1329 08-01-07 12:57 PM

If i receive money p2p am i still eligible to receive the rake back?

Talking Poker 08-01-07 01:01 PM

I have no idea. I would guess that you would be able to though, assuming you sign up through my link. I mean, regardless of how you "deposited," you'll still be generating rake when you play.

left68wing 08-01-07 02:16 PM

So, am I fucked if I already have an account here? Don't think I've deposited yet.

Talking Poker 08-01-07 02:32 PM

Well, your existing account is obviously not linked to me, so I can't get you rakeback there. I don't know what their policy is about making new accounts, but since you never deposited, you might be able to close the old account and make a new one.

Invigilator 08-01-07 02:51 PM

You could have the best screen name ever

I thought of this AFTER I signed up with Cake Poker, but someone else could do it.

They have human charaters for avatars. Pick one of the "attractive" young ladies and sign up with the screen name "I'm a dude".

I would have if I had thought of it sooner.

enjoy

kmb13592 08-01-07 04:33 PM

Does the software work on apple computers?

Talking Poker 08-01-07 06:23 PM

I did a little digging and found this post on the PT Forums from PT Pat:

Cake HHs can be written to your HD now, so in time (hopefully soon), you should be able to import them all.

Some people have also messed with writing Cake --> Stars HH converters, as I guess the HH formats are very similar. The ones I found were buggy at best though, so I'll probably just wait for the PT Update.

de-coder 08-01-07 09:36 PM

Does this mean you accumulate rake on every hand? Not just the hands you win?

juiCe[3x] 08-01-07 10:11 PM

Every hand you're dealt into.

Talking Poker 08-01-07 11:06 PM

Yes, this is standard pretty much everywhere - including Full Tilt, where you have been getting RB for months. :)

If $1 is raked and 5 players were dealt into the hand, each player is considered to have contributed 20 cents to the rake, whether they folded preflop or won the pot.

Reel Deal 08-01-07 11:45 PM

Just signed up... giving it a spin right now.

Edit: software reminds me of Pokerroom, HHs remind me of Titan (which is bad), players remind me of Titan (which is good)

Edit #2: if anyone can figure out how to do a player search, please let me know. Thx.

de-coder 08-02-07 07:53 AM

Cake lets you change you player name once per week - searches might not be as useful as you think.

de-coder 08-02-07 07:53 AM

I knew that's how they did the points, but I didn't know that was rake as well... learn something new every day.

Reel Deal 08-02-07 10:05 AM

Well, that sucks.

stormswa 08-02-07 10:46 AM

note one cake poker,

I signed up for this site awhile ago, they recently shut down and reopened I believe so if you signed up awhile ago you can still get linked to TP link. At least thats what I did and I got signed up under the TP link with no problem.

Invigilator 08-02-07 10:48 AM

That would be a bit of a problem for PT purposes I would think.

Talking Poker 08-02-07 10:49 AM

Do you guys really think the fish are going to be wise enough to change their screen names regularly? I don't.

de-coder 08-02-07 12:45 PM

It definitely reduces the datamining possibilities.

de-coder 08-02-07 12:51 PM

That's a good question. I suppose it wouldn't take too long to figure that out - provided PT will import the histories.

I would think a lot of fish would change their names for 2 reasons:
1) because they can and would think it's cool - not because they are aware they're fish
2) because TP, Mayhem, sjay and JD will be showing up at their tables so often they become paranoid :D

I remember one guy I was chasing around for 3 hours. I was on very table he was on and I kept following him as he moved. Eventually he asked why I was following him everywhere - I told him that I thought he was following me! He said he wasn't... lol - I miss that guy...

Reel Deal 09-01-07 11:00 PM

Got my first Cake rakeback today... woot!

lightfungus 09-13-07 01:14 AM

I just realized you can keep track of exactly how much rakeback you have so far. Thats badass. And all the silly little promos are kinda fun.

Reel Deal 09-13-07 01:24 AM

And all the retarded fish are even more fun...

I put $200 on this site on August 2nd and have run that up to over $1200 now. Thank you TP!

Talking Poker 09-13-07 01:44 AM

Glad you guys have been killing it! I too like the fact that the RB is totally automatic (I don't have to do anything) and you can see how much you've earned at any time...

lightfungus 09-13-07 02:37 AM

I guess there are more fish than at Stars (not saying much) but I really haven't run into any spectacular fishing yet...am I missing something?

Reel Deal 09-13-07 09:08 AM

Umm, yeah...

These are some of just a few examples. I had a guy pay me off big the other night when I flopped quads... the board paired (obv), 3 of a suit is on the board and this guy nearly stacks-off with the ass end of a straight. Like I said above, I deposited $200 just over a month ago and have only played ~4000 hands at $50NL and $100NL and am up over $1000.

Reel Deal 09-15-07 01:46 AM

Cake roll is now at $1,400 (even after getting stacked early tonight when my open-ended str8/flush draw did not complete). If some of you are not on Cake yet you are seriously missing out.

thrash1294 09-15-07 08:39 AM

Ok I used the link downloaded it tried to deposit and it keeps saying
invalid bonus code?
Did I show up as an affiliate? screenname donkyou2.

Talking Poker 09-15-07 10:35 AM

Yes, you are all set.

thrash1294 09-15-07 08:03 PM

site wont take my credit card:(
how about a $5 swap cake for full tilt?

Talking Poker 09-15-07 08:28 PM

Wrong section. Post a new thread .

Reel Deal 09-24-07 11:58 PM

Update...

Initial Deposit: $200 on August 1st
Total Hands: 7,620
Total Rakeback: $167
Deposit Bonus Cleared: $200
Cake Bankroll: $2261

Again, thanks TP!

Talking Poker 09-25-07 12:06 AM

That's almost 5 cents per hand from RB + Bonus. That's $5 per 100 hands, which is a pretty huge boost to one's BB/100 at the limits I think you are playing at.

Well done.

Reel Deal 09-25-07 09:02 AM

Thanks... running well + playing well + finding poor players = a very good thing. I'd say this has been a mix of 35% at $50NL and 65% at $100NL.

Edit: forgot to add the great rakeback deal into the above equation. Duh.

Fildy 10-15-07 06:17 PM

How/Where can you keep track of rakeback?

Fildy 10-16-07 02:53 AM

I found it. It is under my account, when the screen is displaying your personal information there is a button that says "stats" click it and it will tell you your rakeback amount.

herschelw 10-19-07 10:21 AM

I love cakepoker. Won the $20r there yesterday for $3k

motherofgod 11-05-07 06:05 AM

Cake Rakeback

TP,
i cant find my rakeback stats and i am starting to worry that my account is not set under your affiliate program.
i did use your link and followed insturctions. i deposited towards the end of last week but downloaded a while ago.
screen name is illfinduuuu.
poker is going well but i would really like rakeback since it is one of the main reasons for why i signed.
help please,
thanks in advance

Talking Poker 11-05-07 10:23 AM

I don't see you listed under me. I'll follow up with Cake's affiliate department directly and ask them to look into this.

motherofgod 11-05-07 12:43 PM

thank you very much. i did follow your link but i am not sure if i entered your bonus code since it said that it is not necessary and i since i was not asked for one after i downloaded the software.

Talking Poker 11-05-07 04:51 PM

They say you weren't linked to me, but you are now.... so check against and see if you can access your RB stats.

motherofgod 11-06-07 12:04 AM

i am in. thank you very much for your help!!! i have seen plays at cake poker that i thought i d never seen again in poker these days.
example:
had AA in BB, first hand at table
made it 15 into 3 limpers at 1/2NL
got one caller with a flop of 2d 6h jd
i made it 29 into 34, he raises to 61, i push him in (he has about 90 left behind)
he calls me with 10 8 clubs
LOL

again, great deal, great site, as soon as PT will work it is must for everyone to play at cake poker.
THANK YOU!!!

Gordogg 11-04-08 12:18 AM

I signed up through the link last month, emailed support today and got this back...

Hello,

Thank you for your email. Having reviewed your account i can see that you are not on rakeback status. You can view your bonus in the Cashier screen in the Cake Poker lobby.

Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Kind Regards,

Kevin

CakePoker Support

I 100% positive I clicked the link and DL'd cake. Any ideas?

Talking Poker 11-04-08 10:38 AM

I will email them and see what I can find out.

Gordogg 11-05-08 10:36 AM

Thanks TP. Forgot to mention I did the first deposit bonus as well. FYI in case that makes a difference.

Talking Poker 11-05-08 12:16 PM

Got this response:

You are all set moving forward. I've asked them if they will be paying you for last month's RB, but haven't heard yet. Hopefully they will.

jillaj 11-05-08 02:17 PM

I just signed up through your link.

Talking Poker 11-05-08 05:01 PM

Well, this is unfortunate, but at least you are all set from here on out. Here's the response I got:

jillaj - I see your name, so you are all set. GL!

Talking Poker 11-05-08 05:02 PM

BTW - If anyone would like to trade some Stars or Tilt money for Cake money, let me know and I can probably hook you up. You won't get the first deposit bonus (again, for those who have already deposited), but it's an easy way to get money online and start earning 33% rakeback.

Gordogg 11-06-08 10:10 PM

I can live with that. Thanks for addressing the issue and getting me squared away. If you have $20 on cake to transfer, I'll transfer you $20 on stars.
