PA-HUD not updating while playing

My first day with PT and PA-HUD working at full throtle. After playing around with them both and reading through the tutorials and FAQs, I'm still having one problem. PA-HUD won't update (refresh) player stats without me going into PT and auto-importing HHs. I think I have the settings under Preferences/Refresh Rates set up correctly (I think they're on the default settings)... what am I missing?

Thanks.

depends on the site. Check out or post here and I am happy to walk you through it as long as the kiddies are napping.

What made you think it would?

Thanks mel. This is on Tilt... check my settings against the tutorial and it appears everything is set as it should be. Any help would be great. Thanks.

I thought that's what the Refresh Rates item under Preferences was for... guess not??

Well its reading from your DB, not from the tables HH themselves. If it did that it would be slow as hell. Before you start playing, fire up PT and set it to auto import. Then start PAhud. Then sit at your table. You should be good to go.

this may not be what you are asking, but lets start easy and work our way up. When you are going to play, open PT and PAHUD. In the PT window that opens, click the top button (3-4 in from the right) that says "Auto-Import Full Tilt". Another, smaller window opens up. Make sure you are saving the HH to the correct place and they are getting moved to another place once processed. This should all be covered in the tutorials. Set the time you want autoimports to occur, like around 120 seconds or whatever, and then click "start timer" button. Then go and play.

if this is not it, I will continue.

you want to import each site individually and not the "auto-import general" or whatever button. This screws up your datamining, so just import each site individually.

I think this is the problem... I had been hitting the start timer button and then stopping it after I thought it had imported all the new hands. I'll start it and let it go and see if that does the trick. Thanks.

It's working great now guys, thanks.

This is exactly how it works. It's reading from your db, so if you're not updating your db, it's not going to update on the screen.

In related news, I have a number of annoying "quirks" with my PAHud. I've read through their forums and seen numerous other people complain about the same thing, but the developer seems to always insist it's not a real problem - believe me it is.

Fortunately, the solution almost always seems to be to close PAHud and reopen it, and then I'm good to go a few minutes later.

One example, in case you are wondering - if PAHud has identified a table BEFORE I am sitting there, it won't update my stats on that table (it sees me, but it never updates my stats) no matter how long I wait. I close and reopen it, and there I am a minute or two later. It's annoying, because pretty much every night I end up having to close and reopen PAHud a number of times to get it working the way I want it to.

I got pahud 4 days ago
i like it and wish i got it a long time ago.

lightfungus 02-23-07 10:42 PM

WTF? Seriously? How did you play 12+ tables at a time?

JDMcNugent7 02-23-07 11:19 PM

i never really played 12+, i did play 12 quite a bit tho. Honestly now i really am not sure how i did it, pahud would have helped so much more than i ever realized.
it prob cost me some $, but made me a bit better of a player without having it and being able to ocnstantly rely on stats.

I'm a cheap nit...

Sometimes you make me chuckle. This is one of those times.
