"Home Games Suck" rant

Don't get me wrong, I like hosting my home league. It is really great having people over for a tournament each month. but DAMN!

I have hardly been playing at all online lately, and it has affected my enjoyment of home game poker.

When I played more online, the HG was a nice diversion. But this month, the HG became my "poker fix". Being such, it sucked. People did the same old crap. Call bets with K4o on a Q72 flop, call the bet when a 9 comes on the turn and then CC when the K hits the river. (then giggle like doorknob)

When that is the side show, complete with popcorn and whiskey, it's a blast. However, as being the most time I have spent playing poker in the last month, it made me want to punch myself unconscious.

end ran
-----------

I have the money sitting there. I need to start playing more online.

Heh. Last night, about 3 hands after our "Adam-rule" rebuy time ended, I got it all in with KoD against queens. xJJ flop. queen on the turn. no joy on the river and I'm suddenly watching the others play...

For those wondering: The "Adam-rule" was instituted because one of our regular players (Adam, duh) busted out in the first orbit and wanted to rebuy. A vote was held and he was allowed to rebuy but had to pay the league fee again. Thus born the "Adam-rule": Rebuys are allowed during the first orbit. It certainly does help the prize pots. And when you've got players like we do, serious poker isn't really an option anyway...

Robbie,

Still one of the best times I have ever had playing poker had to be the live HORSE tournament with you, me, Nikki, OceanWaves, and De-Coder. That is going to have to happen again sometime.

Agreed! The lack of sleep clearly will need to be a factor again!
