Uigea

The countdown has begun. Only 5 days left until the Treasury was expected to release regulations for the UIGEA. Will it happen on time....VERY unlikely.

Invigilator 07-08-07 07:58 PM

hmmmm.... when does the WSOP end? naaaaaaa, That's be giving them too much credit.

Kurn 07-08-07 09:54 PM

The UIGEA has precisely zero to do with the WSOP. UIGEA regulates the actions of banks, not individuals.

Kurn 07-08-07 09:57 PM

Almost zero chance the regs and procedures will be in place. The AG basically hinted at that last month. Not to mention that the banking industry is fighting this harder than they fought the now defunct "Know Your Customer" regs 8 or 9 years ago.

UIGEA is already a toothless tiger.

Talking Poker 07-08-07 11:19 PM

It has been since Day 1. Yet here I am, not playing on Party Poker, let alone running a successful affiliate program there.

Thanks, Congress. Fuckers.

JDMcNugent7 07-09-07 05:43 AM

so im assuming i can still feel safe w/ a good amount of $ sitting in FT, right?

Kurn 07-09-07 06:52 AM

Again, broken record here, the UIGEA only impacts transfers into online gaming sites by US-based financial instruments, the vast majority of which had stopped all such transactions on their own 2 or 3 years ago.

You can always get your money out by check which do not bear the name of the site. The key point here is that the banks want nothing to do with this.

Reel Deal 07-09-07 10:23 AM

No, because I just sent Full Tilt and the Federal Government a notice to let them know you are an underage degenerate gambler (just the type of person Bill Frist is trying to protect from themselves via the UIGEA). Sorry, I felt it was my civic duty. Tilt informed me that they will immediately freeze your on-line funds and the Feds will be at your door shortly and will be whisking you off to one of their fine facilities. Sorry JD, but I just have your best interests in mind.

Too late, I already contacted a Christian organization to grab our young friend and whisk him to a "behavoir modifying forced retreat" . As I type JD is starting a 3 month journey of spiritual awaking. The power of Jesus, with a little from the people at "JESUS SAVES TROUBLED YOUTHS inc" will set JD free from Satan and save his soul. Praise the Lord!

You see, Satan's error was pride. JD was too successful and we are funding the full cost of this spiritual awaking ($29,995 plus room and board) from his poker winnings. Like Pastor Fred always says, "Jesus loves everyone, he just charges the rich a little more".

We thought about grabbing Sjay when he was here, but Satan has too tight of a hold on that young man. I mean, did you see those photos?

Invigilator 07-09-07 11:21 AM

Applying the principles of the Torah Code, I discovered the true meaning behind the previous post

"Jesus" is code for Chris Furgeson and "Satan" is code for Phil Hellmuth. That's right, it's just a poker camp a the Palms.

Raise your hands and the blinds!

Talking Poker 07-09-07 01:20 PM

Hey, while JD is rehabbing at Jesus Camp, make sure they again, will ya? , you know (in just three short weeks!). He'll be completely heterosexual in no time!

Oh, what a world we live in.

JDMcNugent7 07-09-07 01:51 PM

wow guys thanks for all your support.

Reel Deal 07-09-07 02:22 PM

Just remember to always ask yourself WWJD?

Amen.

Talking Poker 07-09-07 02:26 PM

Does that mean it worked???

Sweet... more pics of college girls, please.

Invigilator 07-09-07 06:53 PM

Fly, drive, boat, teleport, carry on your back, whatever works!

Talking Poker 07-09-07 07:28 PM

Great pic. I loved your Journey Across the U.S. She was the highlight, eh?

I say we meet up at the Aussie Millions next. I'll try to win myself a seat this year, instead of the Bahamas tourney.

MAYHEM45 07-09-07 07:41 PM

Good idea. Ill be there. Also, why not win a seat to both?

Talking Poker 07-09-07 08:02 PM

The back to back thing is too hectic... plus, if you go to the Bahamas, you miss out on some of the cool pre-Millions events (like golfing with Phil Ivery).

At least that's how it was scheduled last year and the year before. Hopefully they change the timing of one or the other a little bit this year.

sjay2k 07-09-07 08:02 PM

cool i'll be there
